Crazy CH and filaments galore.

The filament top left looks impressive, almost like a little creature with an eye at the top.

Re: SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily)
Has the sun ever produced a "super-flare"?

From Thunderbolts-

In June 2012, a team of 4 Japanese researchers revealed in Nature that “an extremely energetic event occurred around our space environment in AD 775.”

An analysis of Japanese cedar trees showed a “rapid increase” in the concentration of radiocarbon for that year, matched by a “sharp peak” in the flux of the 10Beryllium isotope in polar ice for the same period. A cosmic-ray event must be responsible, but the Nagoya scientists categorically dismissed a local supernova as well as a solar flare.

This report poses two pressing questions: what sort of event occurred and do historical documents shed any light on the matter?

Disturbingly, the stern rejection of a solar outburst as a possible mechanism appears to owe more to a hidebound mindset than to critical analysis. Miyake’s group recognised that a solar-proton event (SPE) with an “extremely hard energy spectrum” could “explain simultaneously the 14C and 10Be results, but it would have to be much harder than any flare observed so far”. They conceded that, in fact, “very large, energetic “super flares” have been detected on normal solar-type stars”, but crossed out the idea for their sheer loyalty to the uniformitarian paradigm of a perennially uneventful sun:

“… it is believed that a super flare has never occurred on our Sun, due to the absence of an historical record (such as a record of aurora and mass extinction caused by the expected destruction of the ozone layer) and theoretical expectations.”

AR1660 now has Beta-Gamma magnetic configuration. AR1661 in the NE has been numbered and 1662(?) has not been numbered, haha. Old region 1640 has returned in the far NE (1662?) and it has shrunken since we last saw it.

Hello all in the Threadsun

I bring thee nearly Every Single CME since 31st December 2012 on C2 Difference Movie [link to sidc.oma.be] there is a very bizarre happening beginning on the 9th Jan around 04:00,you will notice the most ginormous Arcing Loops(ears)on the East limb begin to extend vast distances beyond the Solar Corona and continue reaching out ever further until finally they become fully detached from their grounding around 22:00 - Its' the size of the Ears and their hang time I think to be awesome not the final CME produced.

Another ditty [link to www.sidc.oma.be] note the drop in Sunspot Numbers but yet strangely the CMEs' appear to be more or less keeping toe with the previous Years despite the Ss Lull.

No flare but a CME from that filament eruption. NOAA mentions it in their latest 'Discussion'-

.24 hr Summary...
Solar activity was very low during the past 24 hours. New Region 1661
(N13E60) was numbered this morning as it rotated into view. It is a
simple Hsx-alpha region at this time. Region 1660 (N14W28) continued to
show growth and is the most complex region on the disk as a Dac-type
group with a beta-gamma magnetic configuration. A CME associated with an
active filament eruption in the southeast quadrant of the disk was
observed on NASA SDO AIA 304 starting around 22/0600 UTC.
The event was
also observed via NASA SOHO LASCO C2/C3 as well as both NASA STEREO A
and B coronagraphs. Analysis indicates that the event has a fairly
narrow limb event profile from Earths perspective with a significantly
southward trajectory. The event is not believed to be a factor for
forecast for the week.

.Forecast...
Solar activity is likely to be low with a slight chance for M-class
flares from 23-25 Jan as Region 1660 continues to show development.

The CME from the 21st had an evil face to it...but it seems only Eye can see it, LOL.
