This thread is probably worth adding to favorites for reference. It lists the images that will come into view on HI1 and some of the other telescopes. Very well done imo.

I'll comment more on this later, but solen is mistaken in his interpretation of the data. The observatory he is sourcing his graph on last had a good view of the Sun's north pole in September 2012, and it was still negative polarity.

It most certainly did not reverse in June! More later.

I don't have time right now to go into the details of why that solen chart is mistaken to judge reversals based on WSO filtered data, but for those that want to know when one of the Sun's poles have reversed, use Leif Svalgaard's chart instead [link to www.leif.org]

The Sun's north pole is closer to reversing than the south; Here's the easiest way to tell when it has reversed: Look at the blue line on the left-hand Leif chart linked above, it represents the north pole. See how it is crossing the boundary between negative and positive polarity, going up past zero and then back down below again?

It hasn't reversed polarity until the line stops dipping back below zero every pass. That's when we'll know that the actual pole has converted. There's a decent chance that this September (the next pass of the north pole) the readings stay above zero instead of dipping back below like it did in Sept 2011 and Sept 2012. If it the readings stay above zero this time, we'll know it has reversed! ;)

Are you thinking they perhaps made the mistake of confusing the shorter period oscillation(about 6 Months)seen on this plot [link to wso.stanford.edu] with the full Cycle and hence called Northern reversal based on this?

I am still trying to get a full grip on the shorter period cycles so would appreciate your input on why it is you think they have misinterpreted the data.
