What does geo effective mean? And looking at that link was that an abnormally large CME or what? It looks like it...sorry still have ALOT to learn.. Hi there! Geoeffective means "having an effect on Earth". This CME is not geoeffective. As for size, based on this model of the CME [ link to iswa.gsfc.nasa.gov:8080] as well as this [ link to spaceweather.gmu.edu] , it's got a pretty decent size to it. However, when it comes to potency (had it been earth-directed), things like speed matter a lot as well
