What does he make of the observed decline in SS Magnetic Field Strength and the decreasing strength of the overall Solar Dipole. He will not answer this. I have asked in the past. Grrr. Only the intrepid and brazen want to discuss this matter it seems. This should be THE topic of discussion Exactly. He has never answered these questions from me,as far as I am aware. He will only mock facts I present him. The thing that hath been, is That which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done:and there is no new thing under the Sun. Ecclesiastes 9:1 |

Hello Angel From SWPC Discussion - 'Solar Wind .24 hr Summary... Solar wind speed, as measured at the ACE spacecraft, reached a peak value of 494 km/s at 22/0239 UTC and ended the period near 375 km/s. The total interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) ranged between 0.6 nT to 7.0 nT while the Bz component was predominately positive with a 2 1/2 hour interval of negative Bz to -4 nT beginning at about 22/1545 UTC. The phi angle was orientated in a predominately positive (away) sector through about 22/0400 UTC when a shift to negative (towards) was observed. The orientation remained negative through about 22/1530 UTC when it became variable through the remainder of the period. .Forecast... Solar wind speeds are expected to be slightly enhanced on day one (23 March) due to the expected passage from the 17 March CME. However, very little impact is expected in solar wind signatures. On days two and three (24 - 25 March), a return to nominal solar wind parameters is expected. Geospace .24 hr Summary... The geomagnetic field was at quiet levels. .Forecast... The geomagnetic field is expected to be at predominantly quiet to unsettled levels for day one (23 March) due to possible weak CME effects. A return to quiet levels is expected on days two and three (24 - 25 March).' [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] Solen - 'Forecast The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet to unsettled on March 22 due to possible effects from CH561. Quiet conditions are likely on March 23-24' [link to www.solen.info] So,CHS I would guess, though the Speed is very low and so is the Density. If anything,it doesn't look too bad, yet. We'll need more updates to see if it is just a little IMF bumpiness or what, exactly. Unless anyone else has something? The thing that hath been, is That which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done:and there is no new thing under the Sun. Ecclesiastes 9:1 |

Courtesy of Solen - 'Recent activity The geomagnetic field was quiet to active on March 21. Solar wind speed at SOHO ranged between 371 and 548 km/s under the influence of CME effects. Solar flux measured at 20h UTC on 2.8 GHz was 106.1 (increasing 6.5 over the last solar rotation). The background x-ray flux was at the class B6 level. At midnight UTC the visible solar disk had 9 spotted active regions (in 2K resolution SDO images). Region 11692 [N08W83] rotated partly out of view and was the only AR displaying any activity of interest. C5+ flare: M1.6 long duration event peaking at 22:04 UTC Region 11694 [N13W74] decayed slowly and quietly. Region 11695 [N09W61] was quiet and stable. Region 11700 [S12E07] was quiet and stable. New region 11702 [N08W22] emerged on March 20 and developed further on March 21 when it was numbered by SWPC. Spotted regions not numbered by SWPC: S2299 [N18W11] reemerged with a penumbra spot. S2306 [N10W66] was quiet and stable. S2307 [S25W46] developed slowly and quitly. New region S2309 [N00E03] emerged near the center of the visible disk with a penumbra spot' [link to www.solen.info] The thing that hath been, is That which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done:and there is no new thing under the Sun. Difference [link to www.vukcevic.talktalk.net] Top Right. 'The Future is Cool' lol : ) So many charts and plots [link to www.vukcevic.talktalk.net] . I personally think we will see(as has been forecast by the AGW fuckers)that we will see wild swings in Climate variability until some kind of equilibrium is achieved and the overall Temp. plummets in the next 15-30 Years. I have been trying to go through so much of the above work(and trying to process it)that my head is throbbing. But,the overall direction(if Solar is the main driver)is downward. As is shown in some of those Graphs etc. above,we have Volcanoes that could change the game or add flavo(u)or any time they want to the overall direction of Climate, this is partly what makes CO2s' potential a living joke. But,all in all, regardless of what happens down here on Earth,I stand by the 'Landscheidt Minimum' as being now and this Cycle on out [link to www.vukcevic.talktalk.net] as also being minimal, unless something else is at hand! Someone please pass this on to BendingTheLight and the others.... Sorry I forgot about this old NASA News story from 2008 (PR for THEMIS Mission) until I saw Spaceweather.com linked to it the other day. This explains why the magnetosphere is extra jumpy around this time of year..... SPRING IS AURORA SEASON- It turns out that rope-like magnetic connections between Sun and Earth are favored in springtime. It's a matter of geometry: As Earth goes around in its orbit, Earth's tilted magnetic poles make different angles with respect to the Sun, tipping back and forth with a one-year cadence. Around the time of the equinox, Earth's magnetic field is best oriented for "connecting-up" with the Sun. But wait, there are two equinoxes, spring and fall, with similar magnetic geometry. Indeed, studies show that fall is aurora season, too. Geomagnetic disturbances are almost twice as likely in spring and fall vs. winter and summer, according to 75 years of historical records analyzed by solar physicist David Hathaway of the Marshall Space Flight Center: diagram. So, 'tis the season for auroras--and lots of data for THEMIS. Says Sibeck, "we welcome the spring!" [link to science.nasa.gov] Yes, indeed, happy Spring to all. Finally a story about planetary alignments which makes sense to me,LOL. |
