I still think that AR1726 looks like a fusion of two magnetic fields. Siamese twin sunspots groups now morphing into a larger structure. Early x-ray images from yesterday even showed a two-lobed x-ray configuration. Time will tell, but I believe this may lead to increased volatility in this region. Latest HMI Color Intensitygram: [ link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] AR1726 AIA 171a Image (Tinted Pink)- :1726pink: AR1726 Recent Magnetogram (compare it to the one I posted 12 hrs. ago)- :1726_HMIBC: Quoting: Hugh M Eye I agree look at that mingling, looks like that ss could have some energy getting all pent up, beautifull growth on that one. Quoting: shadasonic on April 18, the 2 sunspots 1726 & 1727 were nonexistant, they began to form on April 19th and are now large complex sunspot groups today, April 20th. from nothing to this in 2 days you can see this here [ link to www.solarham.net]
