Two filament eruptions occurred in the vicinity of Region 1777 (S16W31, Hsx/alpha). The first was a 13-degree filament, centered near S16W23, that erupted during 27/1927 - 2007 UTC associated with a long-duration x-ray enhancement and a non-Earth-directed coronal mass ejection. A second 5-degree filament, centered near S21W20, erupted during 28/0129 - 0250 UTC associated with a C4/Sf parallel-ribbon flare at 28/0159 UTC from Region 1777. There was also a CME associated with this eruption. Initial analysis suggests this CME may have an Earthward component, but additional analysis will be required to determine potential geo-effectiveness.
