Hey, folks, suddenly lots of solar activity to report and discuss. ARs 1817 & 1818 are growing quickly and both are popping with flares. A C8.4 from 1817 is the strongest flare since I-don't-know-when (about a month I guess). Big Bear H-alpha movie: [ link to halpha.nso.edu] Sol's X-Ray output is coming back to life-Of course we knew it would sooner or later. :8/11-Xray: C8.4 Flare! :1817-C8flare: By the way, the Perseid Meteors are picking up over the UK now. UK Live Meteor Cams: [ link to www.ukmeteorwatch.co.uk] Meteor Detection 3D Radar: [ link to www.merriott-astro.co.uk]  Since July 8th solbro, nice CH coming around also. 1818 should be in a good magnetic position. Time for some action!
