Quoting: #Geomagnetic_Storm# I believe that velocity is a false data reading based on spurious SOHO images. It must be much slower than that. It'd take an M5 or better to shoot a CME out at 1400-1999 km/sec. It was big but it was only a filament. In any event, the CME doesn't seem Earth-directed (no halo) . STEREO B sows it going away from Earth. So I call a 'possible glancing blow' with many considerations. We have a large coronal hole, a CME, the 60 W. long. factor, and the aforementioned Solar Sector Boundary Crossing and how they interact, only God really knows. If the Bz is negative we could see a G2 Storm or maybe nothing at all. It was much slower than CACTus says but it may interact with the northern CH-HSSS (coronal hole-HiSpeedStream) or maybe not....we shall see, eh?
