That NASA article states that between Dec. '58 to Feb. '62 there were 38 Discoverer launches. That's like ONE A MONTH! The first 3 years of our nascent space program was run by (D)ARPA, NRO, USAF and probably overseen by NSA (founded in 1952!). Only rarely do I question the CACTus data; but it's an automated computer system. When an image (or data) is missing, it miscalculates velocity....it's 'robot-stupid' in other words. I've been observing a lot of raw nature where I am in the hills of Tennessee (named after the Cherokee town TENASI. And it occurred to me that no robot or drone could ever improve on the Creator's gift of LIFE. Yeah, they can build a dragonfly that sees in infared and shoots poison darts at ya; but is that really an IMPROVEMENT on the 'Natural Order'? I think it's not. The transhumanists oughtta get out of San Francisco and check out the real world. It will blow your mind! Coming from a more or less City/Suburban matrix, a lot of natural wildlife is very new to me. I've seen many species of butterflies, birds, reptiles, a family of deer,many rabbits, lotsa dead skunks, a badass raccoon, about 30 new species of insects and arachnids which I've never encountered before. In Colorado Springs I saw a bear runnin' around Downtown. Nature is an example of resiliency, true diversity and a design which makes life strive to prosper and reproduce. At times, I've felt telekinetic power in enticing insects and mammals to behave in a respectful way towards me. And, Praise God!, they will obey a pure heart. I'd rather work to CONVINCE NATURE- than to CONQUER IT. The sharks and jellyfish have never bothered me, thank God. |

It continued to exhibit a horizontal shear line, but also continued to show signs of decay. The other spot groups were either stable or decaying. SDO imagery observed a fairly extensive eruptive prominence that lifted off the southwest limb at approximately 14/2145 UTC. Initial WSA Enlil analysis of Lasco and STEREO imagery indicates the associated coronal mass ejection (CME) was slow (~350 km/s) with the majority of the ejecta moving just south of the ecliptic plane. Further analysis of this CME is ongoing. No other Earth-directed CMEs were observed throughout the period. The largest event of the period, a C2/Sf flare, erupted from Region 1818 (S07W07, Dki/beta) at 15/1756 UTC. The region continued to exhibit a horizontal shear line and slight areal growth over the period. The other region of interest, Region 1817 (S21W31, Ekc/beta-gamma-delta) exhibited some intermediate spot decay but redeveloped intermixed magnetic fields including a weak delta within the large leader spot. The region was responsible for a C1/Sf at 15/1835 UTC. Two new regions were numbered during the period; Region 1822 (S08E57, Dao/beta) rapidly evolved on the disk and Region 1823 (S07E72, Hsx/alpha) rotated onto the disk. The remaining spot groups were either stable or in slight decay. At about 14/2000 UTC, both SDO/AIA 304 and GONG H-alpha imagery observed a 21 degree long filament eruption centered near S28W70. At 14/2200 UTC, SOHO/LASCO C2 imagery observed a slow-moving CME off the SW limb with a majority of the ejecta directed just south of the ecliptic plane.
