SOLAR ACTIVITY SLOWDOWN- This may be a great week (or 2) for SOLAR-WATCHers to go on vacation, catch up on WWIII news, or start organizing your bug-out bags for the coming economic collapse, civil wars & The Great Tribulation. Old Sol may be going on vacation, too.

The sunspot Number has already dropped to 101 and will soon drop off the cliff unless a sudden new rash of spots develop. I see maybe one more region coming over in the NE and the rest of the far side is blank. I thought that things were back on the upswing, but this cycle just can't get it going (especially the southern hemisphere).

NOAA Solar Activity Update-

24 hr Summary...
Solar activity was very low. There were no reportable flares this
period
. New Regions 1834 (N14E71, Bxo/beta) and 1835 (S09E80,
Hsx/Alpha) rotated onto the eastern limb and were numbered this period.

A coronal mass ejection (CME) from an eruptive prominence, centered near
Region 1820 (S13W83, Hsx/Alpha), was visible in LASCO C2 coronagraph
imagery at 24/1012 UTC. Subsequent WSA-ENLIL model output suggests the
event is not likely to be geoeffective.

.Forecast...
Solar activity is likely to be low for days one and two (25 - 26 Aug)
and expected to be very low with a chance for C-class flare activity on
day three (27 Aug)
.

GEOSPACE-.Forecast...
The geomagnetic field is expected to increase to quiet to G1 (Minor)
geomagnetic storm levels on day one (25 Aug) with arrival of the 21 Aug
CME.
The field is expected to decrease to predominately quiet to
unsettled levels for days two and three (26 - 27 Aug) as the CME
influence wanes.
