I have had some interesting conversations lately with some people I know that I consider "awake" and looking beyond MSM propaganda.
In particular a conversation this weekend ....
... due to the over hyped solar (non) events publicized by MSM, many people are under the impression, and believe that our US government agencies are "aware" of an impending massive solar event and is one of the reasons behind all this National preparedness and talk of a huge natural disaster, specifically an EMP like event caused by a massive CME.
Although I don't believe it is completely out of the question, as we have no way to predict what the sun may do whether in Solar Max (currently disappointing) or not. But in the same train of thought, cannot predict that it WILL definitively happen either.
The only concern I personally have is that this Solar propaganda may steer those not familiar with those possibilities and may misconstrue a possible man made EMP event for an over publicized, intentionally deceptive, but erroneous Solar event.
Any thoughts ???

Anyway, the source for the story was not an astronomer or a space physicist, but a 'consultant' promoting a hardening of the power grid. In other words, some bloke lobbying for government funding for him and his gang. Actually, I'd completely forgotten about it, so I'm just going from memory here. This story should never have been posted on Mainstream news sites which claim any credibility whatsoever. Have there been others recently? I mean besides the old recycled Ed Dames' bs prophecies and the pre-2012 doom-hype...the 'near-miss' one is the only recent one I'm aware of. Hi TS66 and Hugh  Thanks for sharing on this, both of youz. I think that even if this particular doom-mongering were absolutely debunked on mainstream (but was it? nah), the fear is now instilled in the 'collective mind'. Which was the objective.
