The Sungrazing Kreutz comet is brightening nicely on the SOHO C3 images- (coming in from the 4 o'clock angle): [ link to sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov] Earlier image magnified: [ link to twitpic.com] Seecchi Sungrazing Comets recent reports seems to show 4 or 5 confirmed SOHO comets in the past 4 days- [ link to sungrazer.nrl.navy.mil] ISON UPDATE-Speaking of comets, some astronomers are now predicting that ISON will survive perihelion and not disintegrate. I hope they're right because naked-eye comets are fairly rare sights. I think that ISON's survival may be dependent on the sun's level of activity that day....Sol's known to be moody around comets.
