Here is a nice still shot of current sunspots from one of our glp memebers. Can someone explain again why it looks reversed to the graphics we see? Thanks

Hi, ISisONe hf All of the images from GONG telescopes and orbiting imagers are re-calibrated to show true solar N-S-E-W orientation. Because the Earth is round and also tilted at 23.5 degrees, observations are oriented differently depending on the observer's latitude and the shifting seasons. It's the same reason the moon looks 'different' at various times and places. It all depends on the perspective of the image-maker.
