I was just gunna post something silly like its a sun port hole opening up ready to fire off...

but I remembered something in alot of crop circles... and this might be silly as well is this design

Ah, AC48, you were holding out on us, lol. Excellent dot connecting. I got very happy (sign of resonance/truth) as soon as I saw those images. So since this seems to be a new development in our sun, could mean sun is maturing, advancing into it's next stage, evolving. I like the port hole idea. Maybe Wormhole that is going to interact with Ison.

S0 discusses that sunspot anomolie. Agrees, first time ever seen by Human eyes.

Hi, ISisONe All of the images from GONG telescopes and orbiting imagers are re-calibrated to show true solar N-S-E-W orientation. Because the Earth is round and also tilted at 23.5 degrees, observations are oriented differently depending on the observer's latitude and the shifting seasons. It's the same reason the moon looks 'different' at various times and places. It all depends on the perspective of the image-maker.

I think I've found the answer! But I've forgotten the question, LOL.

Speaking of 'connecting the dots'...I'm learning something new today about the magnetic structure of sunspots...has anyone ever heard of UMBRAL DOTS?

Umbral Dots-

The strength of the magnetic field inside umbral dots has been a somewhat controversial subject, with some works finding no large differences between umbral dots and the umbral background (Lites et al., 1989; Tritschler and Schmidt, 1997), and other works finding a clear reduction of the field strength both in central and peripheral umbral dots (Wiehr and Degenhardt, 1993; Socas-Navarro et al., 2004; Riethmüller et al., 2008a). However, as pointed out by the the latter works this could again be -dependent, with the differences in the magnetic field being small a few hundred kilometers above , but fairly large close to this level. Here the difference can be such that the magnetic field inside the umbral dot is only a few hundred Gauss (see Figure 21). (snip)

The lower magnetic field inside umbral dots mentioned in Section 3.1.2 is a direct consequence of the convective motions described here. In the sunspot umbra, convective motions push the magnetic field lines towards the boundary of the convective cell, thereby creating a region where the vertical component of the magnetic field vector is strongly reduced. Since the ambient magnetic field is vertical, this automatically yields a very small field inside the umbral dot. At the top of the convective cell the magnetic field forms a cusp or canopy, preventing the material from continuing to flow upwards. The pile-up of material at this point creates a region of locally enhanced density, which is responsible for the appearance of the central dark lane inside umbral dots (Schüssler and Vögler, 2006). I don't even know if this is related to what we're witnessing, but it's a fascinating read nonetheless. I've never come across this before and the solar physics here may be over my head, so anyone who enlighten us please chime in.

The Umbral hole or dot seems smaller now, yet it appears distinctly bluer.

Ooohh, excellent link Hugh, I was getting lost. They give an illustration but with light bridges, ours doesn't have any bridges. Also, they explain theories about what is happening, temperature differences, but they don't explain how or why they happen.

Comet ISON is now inside the orbit of Earth as it plunges headlong toward the sun for a fiery close encounter on Nov. 28th. Although the comet is not yet as bright as many forecasters predicted, the comet is putting on a good show for observatories around the solar system. NASA spacecraft and amateur astronomers alike are snapping crisp pictures of the comet's gossamer green atmosphere and filamentary double-tail.
Because ISON has never passed through the inner solar system before (it is a first-time visitor from the distant Oort cloud), experts aren't sure what will happen next. Can the comet survive its Thanksgiving Day brush with the sun? Will it emerge as a bright naked-eye object?
