I grew up with grunge and thrash metal and alt rock so hating Phil Collins was mandatory. Later on I learned to appreciate that the man had talent and was actually quite different as a songwriter and musician to the vast majority of successful pop artists. don't get me wrong, I don't own all the albums and frankly there are lots of middle of the road collins solo songs that i do not like but the quote above about the MTV awards is very telling and you have to respect someone who doesnt have to or want to play the game anymore telling it straight.

I also love the story about how he quit the UK to go live in a chateau on Lake Geneva in 1997 when Tony Blair and Gordon Brown got into power so that he didnt have to pay his taxes and support their socialist agenda, how many other principled millionaires can you think of in any field who would do the same thing.

Ecatly, compare this to all the dark crap the business pushes today. Unbelievable, it is these cases that I am glad the world is coming to an end. So that all these monkeys today can die, or leave the beautiful planet of earth, let's hope the new socieity will be more spiritual and these monkeys will have to learn hard before they try going into public.

That's a different kind of music, this just shows how much biased you are. I guess this music sucks your brains out, or maybe you were always like this that's why such music appeals to you. This aggressive pace is for souls that needed love from when they were kids, but didn't get any, so later they become harsh and dull thanks to that. I never understood the message of hard music, but then again I had a lot of smooth mother love in my life.

I always saw that smooth music is of depth of soul, harsh music like metal and dull music like hip-hop are of surface of mind, or deep places of mind, not the soul. Rock music started to appear just when world was going downwards. It is a fact.
