I had two "pet" chickens that one day mysteriously disappeared from the back yard. When I asked my parents what happened to them, I was told that while trying to escape the yard they both got their heads stuck under a fence. I was told there was no other way to get them out,so to free them from under the fence and put them out of their misery, my father had to use an axe to chop their heads off.lol
I awoke the next morning to the smell of chicken soup ...but still it was only much later I realised the deception!

Verbal lies or implied lies?

Can keeping drugs and paraphernalia in your house constitute a lie, an implied lie, that responsible adults use drugs?

I don't keep drugs or paraphernalia in my house. I wouldn't even know who to buy drugs from, and I don't have any children to set an example for.

No lies, but they taught us an unrealistic sense of justice and fairness- like the world was going to be that way (right). We were supposed to be that way with others - honest, fair, compassionate, tolerant, giving, etc. Nice, but I guess too idealistic. Now my husband says to me, Why are you always surprised and hurt when an asshole acts like an asshole? I guess what I'm saying is they didn't make my siblings and me tough enough. We were all too sensitive, and expect too much from people, I think.

I think they taught you right. What they apparently didn't teach you is to seek out those who would reciprocate your sense of justice and fairness.

Despite the fact that I disagree with Mormon doctrine, what I can say about them is they would probably reciprocate that sense of justice and fairness you have. Most of them also as parents are excellent role models, until you get to the philosophy of what they will tolerate from their church leaders.

Most of the people I served with in the military would also reciprocate your sense of justice and fairness, except unlike the Mormons most of the men I served with in the military would never tolerate from church leaders what the Mormons do.

The military is a great place to find those with high moral values. And they aren't rich. And yet you can find rich people like Bernie Maddoff with no moral values.

"My mother had me believe her husband who I thought was my dad,was my dad. She never told me she had an affair and I had a different dad. I found out when I was donating blood one day ( I have a rare blood type) and the nurse said you should ask your parents to donate because one of them has to have this type of blood. So low and behold when I was 26 years old I went home to ask who had the blood type. GO FIGURE Neither"

Been there done that too- was 38 yrs old. Really makes you re-think life!

Also - we had two dogs that went to a "good farm home" I'm sure you can figure how that work out!

Oh well - You are who you are. Move on. cheers

My parents really tried to do "good" but hard to not come out smelling like shit while sewer surfing.
Gee where to begin with all the lies??
Free country???,Life is what you make it?,This is a peoples republic? ,Santa clause,Easter bunny,The whole Jesus dude thing,"This hurts me more than you"!,"God loves you"
Lets just say I have just an inkling of doubt on the prior.

The biggest lie of all time IMO is that concept which is called "Love"
Just read the "good book"
In all "his love" if you don't tow the line its DEATH and HELL ETERNAL.Always creating consequences while obscuring and blurring solutions.Same with parents do as I say or BLAM!
I can never trust in it for all it does all I have EVER witnessed is grand scale manipulation to pull your strings so as to surrender complete control over OR destroy you from within via your memories and guilt..

I learned to NEVER ever trust ANY BODY and to do it "your damned self"!
To this day I have yet to need to pay a plumber or a mechanic or doctor.Cant trust them and I can and do doo a better job by my damned self.
So for that I must thank them,My parental units, they where of the few whom honestly tried there best in the worst or worlds.

Apparently the only real absolute truth in life is death.
For death does conquer all.
Love manipulates and deceives.
Life is a gift?
BULLSHIT LIE!!
Life is a CURSE!!!!

That each person is a seperate individual, independent of everyone and everything else. They encouraged the lie of the ego, but they fell for it too. Society forces it upon you. I knew as a child it was total bs, I was like "wth is wrong with this world" but I eventually succumbed to it.

Thankfully I'm starting to wake up.

Re: What was the biggest lie told by your parents that you believed when you were a child, however later realised they had lied to you all along
My parents were such liars it is hard for me to pick just one. I am talking about the people who adopted me. They believed in lying. They used it everyday to make things the way they wanted it to be for them. They are both gone now and not a day goes by that I do not think of something they lied about, from what was my real name to if I asked for something they said they did not don't have it. It would show up later somewhere. I would have appreciated "no, it's mine. No, I am your parent and I don't want you to go to school there. No, I won't tell you your name, you might want to use it and that would upset me.

Lying was their way of life, good Christian that they were. It made them comfortable. My mother's biggest lie was that she was happily married to my father. In the end she admitted it was a lie, her entire married life sucked, and she gave up and died six week later. It makes me furious to this day. I have never lied to my children. May not always be pleasant, but if you lie it will come back and bite you later.

Catholicism. However, they thought they were doing the right thing, and they truly meant well. I now know they were fooled as I was, it's all a complete lie...all the evidence points to it being a mystical space santa claus fairy tale with no basis in reality.

Re: What was the biggest lie told by your parents that you believed when you were a child, however later realised they had lied to you all along
That they believed in God and his way. That i got sick as a baby and almost died. That they knew what was best for me.

A cousin told me when i was a teenager that my mother ran away from home. I confronted her with that and she confessed that the ones i called grandparents where some far away friends that took my mother in. I rocked both houses by calling them liars, parents and grandparents, tho they never made an apology. I never looked at my grandparents again.

A few months later i realised what happen to me as a baby so i asked again and it turned out that the doctor let me fell on my head. We took x-ray pictures and it clearly showed that my neck has been broken or fractured, my head does not sit straight the relax position is a little to the right. Again i rocked the house again no apology.

I followed their wish in education and now there are just a few jobs around which most of them are to far away. I had a weak spot for music, the bass gitar in particular, if you knew what kind of words and names they threw at me when i went out and just bought one and so i rocked the house again.

How did i rock the house :
A freaking bunch of liars. My whole life you have been dominating me, telling me the ten commandment while you have lieing to me from the point i talked and walked around. Why do you think i would listen now when you have been pushing my al my freaking life. I wanted to play bass and what did you say "no there is no money in that kind of live" and now look no freaken work in the thing you wanted me to learn tho what do you say "you must work, go find one" you simpletons. Do you have any knowlegde about how many people i told i was deadly sick as a baby ? because you lied i DAMMED lied. In my whole life it was you two that lead me astray and now you will know the meaning off what goes around comes around and what you sow you shall harvest.

I still live with my parents honor you're parents till they die God said and so i do but ever since these happenings i am like a thorn in their foot, exactly as the teachings teach.

It took me a long time but I have forgiven my parents for many things. Thankfully looking back, I can say that they were trying to do what they thought was best for me by lieing and being so strict. At least through this experience I have learnt much, and I am definetly not going to make those same mistakes with my own children.

Don't go to college because your purpose in life is to find a good man and have lots of babies. (this told to a straight-A student who loved school but they didn't want to pay for it)

Those are only bad dreams, it's just your imagination. (I've been a lifelong abductee and have always been able to read people)

If you don't want to do something, just tell people you are sickly and can't go. (which became a self-fulfilling prophecy and now I deal with chronic illness)

Be nice. Always be a nice girl, boys don't like girls who aren't nice. (betray your own true feelings, don't ever express yourself honestly)

If you're not a virgin no one will every marry you.
