Re: WTF? The Moon is Moving Way Too Fast!
The Moons orbit isn't a perfect circle and also shifts up/down many degrees angle.

It is perfectly normal for the Moon to race across the sky or creep real slow. It just depends on the state of orbit and the viewer.
 Quoting: --Voltaic--

Not at all, we are talking about how was the speed of the moon in the sky. So No ***** please.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27727641

I know what you are saying. I am correct.

Hopefully this will teach you.

[link to images.iop.org]

The Moons "speed" is a combination of Earth rotation (a constant), the orbit angle to Earths equator and the location of orbit since it is not a perfect circle.

Due to everything spinning and moving like this, the Moon can appear to travel twice as fast as it's slowest moments.

So YES, I do know what I am talking about, you do not.

It is okay, we all learn everyday. Only those ignorant to learning remain dumb.

No shill, I have explained this several times already on GLP.

You are not the first (or the last) to make such a claim.

The Moon can appear to travel faster then the Sun (and slower as well at times). By which in the video, is about right for the faster side of orbit.

Seriously, look into the Moon's orbital charactersitics and learn something new today.

Ok, so now, tell us how fast the moon can rotate in average degrees in the sky per minute.

Why don't YOU prove to me the Moon is moving faster then it should!

btw, not possible to give a REAL figure due to subtle changes shown in the link below.

[link to eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov]

Note that these are REAL changes in speed versus viewers looking at a Moon appearing to move faster or slower.

I got a better idea....why don't you actually put up some proof.

Oh right, you don't have any proof. All you got is a video zoomed in. Right, lets all have a scientific debate over a crappy video.

Bring out some REAL concepts to explain the "anomalous" motion of the Moon.

In fact, tell me where it is now and tell me where you THINK it should be. Since you believe you are correct, the Moon should be out of phase right now.

Even better yet, hours ago the Moon was right on time during the eclipse. Yet you think the Moon has accelerated enough to be seen by the human eye hours later.

The amount of energy needed to do that would provide enough heat to melt the entire moon into molten lava.

Retard!

Also noted in that thread, the Moon was said to be enormous. Which as the laws of physics have it, objects APPEAR to move faster when closer versus a referrence point that was further.

I'll help you out some, since you need it.

Look at the tidal charts. Are they showing the same old regular tidal motions?

Then surely the tides must be off. But they are not.....again, you fail.

In fact, I have an idea. This will prove it once and for all.

I will bump this thread on November 28th 2012. The next NORMAL Full Moon this month.

That gives the Moon PLENTY of time to speed away from the regular cycle.

If you are correct, the Moon will not be Full that night.

If you are wrong, well....you are wrong.

You are right. Tonight it is 11.30 (23.30) PM and the moon is entirely too far west. It should be in the middle of the sky. Is anyone else noticing this???

Yes, searching on the web there are many who saw that, it's a fact.

Re: WTF? The Moon is Moving Way Too Fast!
Your evidence is contradictory.

You say it is moving faster AND tides are higher. Well, IF the moon is moving faster then normal variations it would begin to escape the Earths pull.

Meaning tides would reduce if the Moon is moving faster.

Debunked
