Tsunami footage looked... fake.

Until today, that is. Perhaps the resolution was too low then due to bandwidth/encoding limitations, or something akin to that.

My heart goes out to the victims, clearly there is much pain. I have concern for friends who now live in Japan. They are fine

I'm just saying that some of the footage we've all seen looked... fake.

Like this one - watch as the oncoming wave hits the greenhouses. Small details, look for them.



I dunno. Maybe it's just that we've never seen something like this unfold live, except for rotten surveillance camera footage. Seeing it yesterday (Saturday in US) had me feeling lke it was unreal in some way, and not just in a 'surreal' way. Like the universe wasn't quite sure how to render it yet, until a billion human eyes had a chance to see it, feed it details of their own creation, enough to imagine it looks natural, possible, and convincing.

So, there is no spoon, and all that, but I have been sending positive thoughts that way just in case.
