The NY Times article in OP states the it took 10 days for Radiation from the Chernybol accident to reach the United States (most of us did not notice any effect).

Is anyone tracing the plume from the volcano? The volcano erupted 7? hours before the second explosion around midnight EDT. It might give an idea of which way the wind is blowing.

I wouldn't give the west coast that much credit. I'd wager that a lot of people give more of a shit right now about the size of Charlie Sheen's cock than about what's going on in Japan. Sad but true.
