Quoting: MysticThat depends on environmental influence, and also varies from detector to detector (probe). Commercial air-travel you are subjected to ~250-400 CPM while flying. If we start to see readings jump from say 20 CPM to 200 CPM then we'd want to begin an investigation into why. If you validated a reading of, say, >3000 CPM you'd want to isolate the source and monitor your dosimeter to determine the exposure hazard based on time since initial exposure.
