Kelp Versus Potassium Iodine

Read an interesting report that said Kelp is better... Looks I may have to go get Kelp today?? Anyone know where to find the tablets?

luckily theres likely plenty of kelp in japan.

Yeah... Thats what I was thinking... Isn't Iodine already very high in their diets... All people really need is the Iodine to protect their thyroid from nuclear fallout? Which means their Kelp is just as good a form as Potassium Iodine??

All we keep hearing about is Potassium Iodine, but it looks like Kelp has naturally higher amounts of Iodine?

Anyone with an opinion??

KI pills do no good against MOX - it is only good for Uranium radiation. Plutonium is not affected by the pills!

Plutonium remains effective over very long periods affecting the health of the people and the environment.

When MOX fuels are used, the probability of having such serious accidents or trouble would increase due to the high content of plutonium in the fuel. Even if an accident is not a serious one,it could become serious since even a small portion... of the inventory of actinides released to the environment could cause significant radiological consequences.

only about 1 mg of plutonium may be released from a MOX facility to the environment. As a comparison, in uranium fabrication facility, 2kg (2,000,000mg)of uranium could be released in the same radiation exposure.

Well i just bought Kelp because it was all I could find...but then I read this:

Kelp Tablets, for example, contain only 225 MICROGRAMS of iodine! (Fortunately, it is also available in a 1000 tablet bottle, unfortunately though, you'd need to be swallowing 442 of them per day and likely not wander too far from a bathroom!)

Kelp rhymes with Yelp and Yelp rhymes with Help. So therefore Kelp will Help you from doing the radioactive Yelp. Therefore it is good.
