The parent loves the child even while he corrects him and because he loves him, he corrects him. Because he loves his child, a parent will set out rules and consequences for the household. If a teen gets grounded by her mom for doing something irresponsible, cruel or unjust, does that mean the mother is not loving the child? If the mother tells her child "I don't want you dating the drug addict" does that mean the mother hates the drug addict and her child?

Earth is God's household and we are His children. He loves us even while He sets limits on what we are to do and gives consequences for when we screw up, hurting ourselves and others.
