When I first became aware of A Course In Miracles, it was quite a while ago, and my life at that time was going along pretty well.
I wasn't needy of anything.
But I was always OPEN and searching to find some meaning to this life.

And in fact I had become interested in the Huna religion of Hawaii at that time, which is quite an amazing and wonderful religious belief.

But then I heard a woman interviewed on the radio, and she said that a psychologist who was working at Columbia University at the time began in 1965 she began to hear a Voice and she soon learned the Voice was from Jesus.

I thought immediately; Why not? This could be true. I have to find out for myself.

I went to the book store and found it there and bought it.

As I read it I knew this was not anything like any book I had ever read before.
I found it to be extremely beautifully written.
And I was soon convinced that this was indeed from Jesus.

And I happily study it every day from that first day I got it to now.

At that time in the USA in 1965, when the book A Course IN Miracles began to be scribed things were not noticeably bad.

Most of us then thought things were going along pretty well.

But below the surface of what appeared "normal" something was being planned and Jesus and Those Who work with Him, were aware of it, and it was decided that They would INTERCEDE to give us important information that we would soon need.

And that is WHY Jesus gave us His Book which He named 'A Course In Miracles.

Thank you for your post which lets others know about this very beautiful and important book "A Course in Miracles" [ACIM].

When I read your post the thought came to me of the "Celestial Speed-up" which is mentioned in one of those ACIM Videos, like the one you posted a link to.

I did a search on the words "Celestial Speed-up" in the 2nd edition publication of ACIM by the Foundation of Inner Peace and these words were not found.

When I did the same search on the ACIM-Original Edition, the words were found in Chapter 3, Section VI "Conflict and the Ego" paragraph 50. [link to www.jcim.net]

This is what it says: "The "chosen ones" are merely those who choose right sooner. This is the real meaning of the celestial speed-up. Strong wills can do this now, and you will find rest for your Souls. God knows you only in peace, and this is your reality."

The reason for the discrepancy is that the edition published in 1975 and considered to be the original ACIM is actually the 1972 manuscript after it was substantially edited.

Many students of ACIM are finding that they want to read the Course the way it appeared when it was finished by the scribes, Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford, in 1972. Helen and Bill had put it in their closet and were waiting to see who would publish it.

They sent a final copy to Edgar Cayce's foundation [the A.R.E.] to ask if the A.R.E. might publish it. They respectfully declinced but that manuscript stayed there until it was located in 1999 during the discovery phase of a copyright trial.

This manuscript was anonymously digitized and placed on the internet. In 2000, Course in Miracles Society [CIMS] was incorporated as a non-profit organization to disseminate this edition.

However, the copyright holders requested a temporary restraining order on all publications until the court had decided their case. They had brought a case against a spiritual community that was infringing on the copyright, essentially challenging its legitimacy. CIMS placed its publication on hold for three years.

In 2003 Judge Sweet declared the copyright on editions previous to 1975 null and void due to pre-copyright distribution via photo copies.

During this trial period, copies of all of the "Special Messages", "Ur Text" <original typed manuscript> and shorthand notes were obtained legally from the Library of Congress by the litigants of the Court case who were entitled to them as litigants. An anonymous person digitized these and placed them on the internet.

The current holder of the remaining copyright on the 1975 editions and subsequent editions of those volumes, erroneously believes that these materials were obtained illegally from the Library of Congress.

Explanation for this thread stopping suddenly:

I had started another thread called 'Jesus' Book, A Course In Miracles, a discussion of its practical uses....

While in the middle of an interaction with other posters, I suddenly found that my posts no longer registered on my thread because there was some kind of problem, and it was not allowing me to continue to post from the last post I made several weeks ago.

When I saw I could not post on that other thread I mentioned I started this newest thread soon after.
Then after about 3 of my posts, I found I could no longer get my posts to register on this 'new' thread either, and so I had to abandon this one also.


But 2 days ago after I mentioned it to "Phennommennonn", one of the major members on GLP, now its working again, and it appears that I can post again.



So I'm not sure if I should take this thread any further since the momentum of both the threads was stopped for so long.

But I do want to respond to the interesting post that was given a while back, in case that person does check to see if any activity has happened to this thread.

Ok so how do you perform a miracle?

You seem to believe so much of this and yet are you able to perform a miracle or not?

I have several different editions of the Course, one is the HLC Version, which was edited by William Thetford, and then of course I also have the version by Kenneth Wapnick.

What I have been studying recently is the version available right online free and it is the URTEXT of the Course In Miracles, and that can be found here:

What I like about studying the Urtext, is that it is all of the scribing for the Text that Helen did from Jesus' dictation. And so it also includes some very interesting information not included in the two editions I mentioned.

There is more information also in a book called "Absence From Felicity", in which are some quotes from Jesus which I didn't see anywhere else.

In particular, (as I remember it) is the time Helen says to Jesus; "Why did you pick me, you couldn't have made a worse choice, because I don't even believe any of this? And why now?"
And Jesus replied, "No, by far you were one of our better choices. Because you will do it."

Then Jesus continued and said something like, "The world will soon be going through a very difficult time, and if we did not intercede you all might not find your way Home again. We call this a 'CELESTIAL SPEEDUP', and my contribution is the Course, and yours is to scribe it."



At the time when I first read that, it impressed me tremendously. But things then were not so bad world-wide as far as I could tell.

Yet Jesus knew the PLANNING that some evilly minded individuals were involved in, and so He gave us His Book, A Course In Miracles, to help us through the coming 'difficult time'.

Now we know that the time He was taking about then, when the dictation of the book was first started, is HERE and NOW.

And I feel frustrated at times that so many people still don't know about this His book, and the help it could give to them.

And it is so easily available, its even FREE,AND FROM JESUS, and yet I can't seem to get many interested in it to even post on these threads I started.

And it seems that situations worldwide are getting worse.

I don't know how much you have read of what I wrote about my experiences with healing, and using the Course as a very practical Manual to get through life here.
And how it teaches to establish a close relationship with the Holy Spirit, so that He can help me/us make any decisions I need to make.
And help me with whatever I need help with.

That's what we can all do, because the Holy Spirit is already in ALL of our minds, it just that He will not help unless we acknowledge Him, He will not interfere with our FREE WILL, and there is a correct way to do that which Jesus also teaches.

Jesus says in the Course the following: "THE ONLY THING UNNATURAL ABOUT MIRACLES, IS THAT YOU ARE NOT ALL DOING THEM."


What I have learned by studying it is that there are actual principles of miracles one can learn. There are actual laws and principles to miracles, and when done correctly will result in whatever help or need one has for oneself or others.

And they can be pretty dramatic, and totally contradict what science considers is impossible.

Jesus says that the miracles are actually done by a Higher Power, and that is the Holy Spirit, Who is also in charge of TIME and SPACE.
But in order to make that process happen we have to do our part correctly.

We are really Mind and Spirit, and our bodies are only vehicles we use here and for only a short time.
But we are forever, because God created us as spirit, and what God creates is forever.

I've seen the books around for a long time, but never really had an interest.

I came back to it while doing conspiracy research within the movie 2012. There was a scene in the movie with Woody Harrelson in which the book "Your Immortal Reality" was shown a couple of times so I decided to buy it.

Very interesting...it purely referenced A course and explained what it is...why, etc.... The Disappearance of the Universe is also extremely intersting

a course in miracles has absolutely nothing to do with Jesus. it is a blasphemous piece of crap designed by the adversary himself. channeled messages that completely negate God's word and everything Jesus has done.

Instead of relying on books that others have "channeled" or been inspired to write, why not just go straight to the source? The Word of God (Christ) is alive and within you as the light of truth. I looked at it and it only amplifies what we have in the New Testament, if I'm not mistaken.

Don't you see that this TIME NOW, this new age, is full of problems that were not addressed 2000 years ago.

And one of the most important teachings Jesus gave was removed from the Gospels because the wife of a Roman Emperor did not want to believe she would have to experience real justice through Karma and reincarnation for the harm she did to others.
Which is God's REAL JUSTICE SYSTEM.

You are absolutely right they should learn to open their minds.

Most who feel they have to attack another person's belief system by trying to discredit it, in this case a book called 'A Course In Miracles" and its spiritual wisdom which they who attack it know nothing about except what other attackers have lied about somewhere on the internet, is revealing a lot about themselves.

And you can bet that anyone who does attack is afraid of something.

And what would make some people feel compelled to attack a spiritual book which millions have found great comfort and truth in?

In fact by studying seriously this book for 11 years I learned from it and did spiritual healing for all sorts of people many of whom had serious diseases from cancerous tumors in their breasts to some with brain tumors, some spinal meningitis. One had the silicon of the breast implants leak the silicon through out her system and there was nothing doctors could do and that woman was dying a painful death.
And they and hundreds more, even animals, were cured of their health problems when the tumors or conditions changed to them becoming normal within usually a three day period.
Even their doctors called it.... "its a miracle".

But these fools still feel they have to attack it.
And its usually the same ones doing it.

I would bet that the people that do attack have probably done some things in their past that they feel seriously guilty about, and at some point they felt they got 'saved' by some fundamental group, and from that time on they decided they would "ATTACK FOR GOD" OR "ATTACK FOR JESUS", as if they made a DEAL with Jesus or God, to attack anyone who says anything different about God or Jesus that their tight little minds can't grasp.

To them it seems that if it wasn't said in the New Testament of 2000yrs ago or in a Jewish Old Testament which is even older, then it can't be true.

THIS SHOW THEY HAVE NO FAITH AT ALL IN GOD OR JESUS.

THEY SEEM TO HAVE A DIFFICULTLY UNDERSTANDING THAT GOD AND JESUS ARE STILL WITH US TODAY IN OUR TIME. NOW!

AND NOW WE NO LONGER WANT AND NEVER NEEDED A CLERGY WHICH CLAIMS THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES GOD SPEAKS TO AND THEY THEN WILL TELL US WHAT HE SAID.

WELL THE TRUTH IS THAT GOD IS IN EACH OF US NOW AND WE DON'T NEED THE MEN IN BLACK TO TELL US WHAT GOD IS SAYING.


These parasites have twisted what Jesus taught, and in fact have removed large parts of his teaching from the Gospels.
And then they made up a lot of useless rituals Jesus never said to do.
In fact Jesus said even then 'the kingdom of God is within you."
And that we are the church of God. We! God is within us!

And we know this for a fact.

SO MAYBE THESE ATTACKERS SHOULD RECONSIDER THE "DEAL" THEY MADE, BECAUSE IT CERTAINLY WASN'T WITH GOD, OR JESUS.

But it sure seems to me that the only one who benefits from their attacks is the anti-christ, the devil, and the forces of evil working with him.

I would certainly wish they would wake up and realize Jesus is available to all of us, even them now.


I have studied ACIM for a long time as I have said on the threads I started about it, and now in fact I am studying, from Jesus' own website which is freely available to all.

The format is different from the Course, because ACIM is just the one book.

Now because our situation is even more serious Jesus has decided to make his teaching a Teaching by the Living Christ.
And in it he addresses our immediate situation directly and in fact gives us the clearest understanding of even the most profound spiritual concepts in a way that is easy to understand.

If you want to stay with ACIM, that's fine, because it is a great spiritual book. One of the best.
