Re: Is USA close to economic collapse?
We r in this situation because everyone started making terrible decisions that dont benefit people the way it was implied to. It is very hard to get back to a healthy econamy but it is possable. If everyone was educated, the way a perfect world would run, we would not have problems with jobs.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1301817

lmao There are many 'Educated' folks unemployed or under-employed. The problem is more complicated than that. We can't exist as a healthy economy and nation as a primarily service sector based economy. We must produce again and diversify.

Did they really legalise it?! Damn, lets just legalise weed or something. In fact even Heroin would be better!
 Quoting: Millillion

Well i don't know much about it but it wouldn't surprise me to be honest, they Swedish government has plenty of dead dogs buried all over the place, forced steralization on people with bad genes is another good one, our monarchy were close buddies with Hitler and Hitler thought of us as Ayrans, not to mention the murder of some of our politicians and the coverups around that.

You know, the lone shooter/stabber mentally ill type.. right, who then escapes all police efforts only to turn himself in a little later with no trance of the smoking gun.

pff...

I'm having a really bad day today btw, haven't felt this hopeless and negative about humanity for a long long time. Nice Post btw.

Most of those are due to illegal immigration, NAFTA and the WTO. This killed the housing and industry, thus te economy which reverbs globally. IT WAS INTENTIONALLY IMPLODED!!

This is why Baba Vanga predicted Obama as the last US President. The collapse is imminent at which point he US as we know it will dissolve and become 7 countries. Personally I think it will be a GREAT thing.

I'm sorry to hear it's got so bad. Just hope the Elitists don't get to use this to their advantage, although I'm sure they wanted this. Or should I say planned this.
And OP:

I'm assuming you're a Brit? The UK is in WORSE shape than the U.S.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1289655

The UK is in bad shape, I wasn't aware that it was worse. Could you shine any light on what makes you think we are worse off.
I work in a hospital, so I see a difference there. People being "fired", but many really just being redeployed. It is far too understaffed. Most people are stressed. Low morale was reported in hospital staff: no surprise there.
Hospitals are working to going private, but they won't admit it yet.
Thank you for the responses so far, you've shone light on the matter for me.

It's not close to collapse, it's past that, the US has been collapsing for some while now, not sure where to draw the line but it's obvious that the economy is being propped up people... by their blood, sweat and tears and their futures.

It's a collaps allright, just isn't showing in the financial ecnonomy, but in the physical.

I'm not even sure if it stops there, one could argue that you've been experiencing a cultural and moral collapse as well... but that's another story perhaps.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1289092

Hey! Speaking of moral collapse, At least the U.S. never legalized child pornography like Sweden did throughout the 1970's!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1289655

Did they really legalise it?! Damn, lets just legalise weed or something. In fact even Heroin would be better!
 Quoting: Millillion

UK basic economic fundamentals are pretty dire. Basically, all the UK's economic eggs have been put in one basket, the City of London [banks, financial services.] The UK also has few natural resources, and has a high population density.

The U.S. is also in dire straits [not the band!] and I'm not minimizing it by mocking the UK. But, the U.S. in and of itself, minus exports, has a huge home market, is rich in natural resources, and simply has more to fall back on than the UK. At the end of the day, the U.S. is self-sustaining. It has the capacity domestically to grow it's own food, supply it's own energy, etc.,

And yeah, Sweden legalized child porn [literally; I'm not talking teens...I mean children, 5,6,8,10 years old] during the entire decade [or most of it] of the 1970s.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1289655

Cheers, yeah I think I agree with you on the economy front. We don't export like we used to. I think we destroyed that ourselves by over taxing. Greed is never key eh?

I don't take it as mocking, it's just how it is. USA being the biggest importer is gonna have a big effect on all the places they buy from. But as long as you can ride it out you got to be grateful for that.

Shit that is SICK. How could a country do that? If I worked in a place that sold it, I'd get anyone buying it with my base ball bat! Can you imagine the humiliation in buy that sick trash, but I guess to be doing that you ain't in touch with reality. Damn... just why that of all things!

Thanks

We won't be getting back to anything as it seems since they get to burn those bridges every day. In a matter of time there will be nothing to get back to. Though it seems it's a long road ahead but we eventually manage get somewhere. we always do. Question is will it be OUR world free to do whatever or will it be THEIR world and us as prisoners.

Interesting thanks. I didn't realise Hitler was pally with Swedish monarchy or that they were Aryan, but that makes perfect sense in both cases.

Lets just hope we one day, if not in our life time sort things out. I don't have a lot of faith in humanity at the moment either, but my hope is we find a better way... even if it's without all the resources and tech we have now. In fact perhaps they'd be better without so much.

Will the U.S. dramatically implode like the U.S.S.R.? No, but we [and the the western 1st world] have gone through and are still experiencing a very major financial crisis brought on by serious fundamental under-lying economic problems, that are not being seriously addressed. Example: the too big to fail banks and corporations are getting even larger and are consolidating their power like never before. And of course the public and private debt problem is severe. We are IMHO heading into basically 'Lost' years, and who know how long it'll be before we get back to pre-autumn 2008 normal. Maybe never. Worse case scenario: we slowly, steadily decline; but that's something that'll take decades.

Couldn't agree less. Up until this nuclear bullshit I was more worried about an economic collapse in US than anything else. We have printed money and spent ourselves into a corner we cannot recover from. Once the rest of the world calls "bullshit" on the dollar it will definitely hit he fan. There will be no steady decline...empires collapse they do not fade away.

I don't understand why the government should be allowed to borrow. When I had a steady job and always paid my bills I tried to get a small loan and they say sorry you have no credit history. Well what about paying all my bills on time month after month and year after year? The government on the other hand has almost always had to borrow money to pay their bills.I am more responsible then they are yet they can just borrow what ever they need.An individual could not keep borrowing money and then borrow more money to pay for the money they already borrowed indefinitely because eventually the interest would make it impossible. The government on the other hand just has too raise taxes and screw the individuals like me that are already getting treated like second class citizens.

It's not right is it. It's like the country's finances are there to be abused by whoever gets the JOB as President.
I'm getting pissed off with how British government is going too, they spend as if "why should I care, I'll be alright". It's just a game to them it seems. I think the government in now might actually doing some good, not sure yet.
How can you find out about the country's finances?

Re: Is USA close to economic collapse?
our money is fiat, it is created out of thin air by the federal reserve bank of new york.

our money is debt, it is all created as loans, first as the fed buys assets (typically in the form of bonds) and then as the banks lend the money continuously through fractional reserve banking (often at a near 0% reserve ratio). It is impossible to get out of debt, because then their would be no money to use to facilitate trade.

our financial system is slyly built upon a monopoly of money. only the fed can create money, and it only does business with a small cartel of investment banks privileged to act as U.S. Treasury primary dealers, which hold their money with the worlds largest banks. A tiny class of bankers holds monopoly control of the money that the Fed creates. This is not free market capitalism, it is monopoly capitalism, aka fascism, and it is turning the country into a plutocracy.

As Lysander Spooner explained: "Any government, that licenses a small amount of an article of such universal necessity as money, and that gives the control of it into a few hands, selected by itself, and then prohibits any and all other money --- that is intrinsically honest and valuable --- palpably violates all other men's natural right to make their own contracts, and infallibly proves its purpose to be to enable the few holders of the licensed money to rob all other persons in the prices of their labor and property..."

the monopolists of money have brought America to its knees, and they risk the destruction of their monopoly because they used their monopoly of fiat money to gain control of a great deal of tangible wealth.

the solution to our fiat, debt-based, monopolistic financial system is available at

I'll check your link out. I wonder whether it was done deliberately to put USA in the proverbial shit. I'm sure some people will do their best for the country, but it only takes a few to ruin it.

Speaking of monopoly, Monopoly money may as well be legal tender. Why does the world still use it when all can see that their taking advantage? Unless they realised the whole time that they were harming themselves. Sounds like your country and mine need reform, start a fresh slate like Tunisia is doing. Of course you don't know if it was worth it until you see the new system running. George Orwells Animal Farm was good at expressing that. I'd love to start a fresh and make it as corruption proof as possible. It would never be 100% corruption proof as you know, your founders did a good job but there is always a way. Fortunately you have the right to arms in case the system got corrupt so you could take them out, unfortunately they too are armed to the teeth!
Does anyone trust the government? I mean some must, but surely not many.
