Racist quotes by US Presidents
These quotes prove that nearly ALL US Presidents have been racists at one point in their lives. The USA has yet to have a non-racist president. This coming from a Canadian.

Abraham Lincoln, 1858

“I will say, then, that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races—that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes.”

Bill Clinton, 2008

"A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee''.

Jimmy Carter, 2009

"I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African American".

George W. Bush, 2004

''You know there's a lot of people in the world who don't believe that, that people whose skin color may not be the same as ours can be free and self governing.''

Lyndon B. Johnson, 1964

"I'll have those blacks voting Democratic for the next 200 years''.

Theodore Roosevelt, 1913

''Society has no business to permit degenerates to reproduce their kind....Some day we will realize that the prime duty, the inescapable duty of the good citizens of the right type is to leave his or her blood behind him in the world; and that we have no business to permit the perpetuation of citizens of the wrong type.''

Barack Obama, 2008

"The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn't. But she is a typical white person, and that's just the nature of race in our society."

Ronald Reagan, 1980

In 1980, Ronald Reagan told biographer Laurence Barrett that the 1965 Voting Rights Act was "humiliating to the South."

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, 1935

“You issue an executive order here for your group of blacks, and the Poles are going to call for one, and you’re going to have this group and that group calling for one, and there’ll be no end to it. Now I’m willing to see to it that these jobs are opened up and I think that we can do that, but I can’t issue any executive order.”

Thomas Jefferson, 1781

''Are not the fine mixtures of red and white, the expressions of every passion by greater or less suffusions of color in the white race, preferable to that eternal monotony, which reigns in the countenances, that immovable veil of black that covers all the emotions of the other race? ''

George Washington, 1786

"It is demonstratively clear that on this Estate (Mount Vernon) I have more working Negroes by a full [half] than can be employed to any advantage in the farming system."

Harry Truman, 1913

''I think one man is just as good as another so long as he's not a n*gger or a Chinaman. Uncle Will says that the Lord made a white from dust, a black from mud, then He threw up what was left and it came down a Chinaman.''

Andrew Jackson, 1832

"After a harassing warfare, prolonged by the nature of the country and by the difficulty of procuring subsistence, the Indians were entirely defeated, and the disaffected band dispersed or destroyed. Severe as is the lesson to the Indians, it was rendered necessary by their unprovoked aggressions, and it is to be hoped that its impression will be permanent and salutary."

On some of those, you are reaching and on some (perhaps missing supporting context) you are really reaching.

Jimmy Carter is saying that the people protesting against Obama may be doing so out of racism if I am reading correctly.

Re: Racist quotes by US Presidents
People of color in America can be prejudice, but not racist. Racism is more than just "I don't like your race". Racism is a system of oppression that makes it easier for one (or more races) to operate and function in society at the cost of another (or multiple other races). The fact that the chances of there being a black president is 1/44 is a type of this systematic racism. The fact that some families in this country have been set back and never financially, socially nor educationally been stabilized sinces slavery and other racist laws held towards other people of color. If you aren't prejudice towards people of color but still enjoy the benefits of them being exploited, you're racist. Example: " I don't like the fact companies hire latinos for cheap labor. I enjoy having low priced fruit and veggies. I don't specifically want latinos working in the fields but I don't want my children or family doing it neither. We come from a long line of college educated (or lawyers, or CEOs, etc.) And everyone in my family 5 or more figures." The person in this senerio isn't hateful or fearful towards latinos. He/she just wants the best his/her family. It is because latinos are exploited families are healthy and don't have to do hard labor for cheap. If latinos didn't live in America (or any group of color for that instance) white people would have to do it. in that case its classism. The reason that the above case was racism is because it is happening to only (or a large majority) latinos. Also most people of color has been stuck in a cycle of poverty and being at the bottom because of the racist history of this country. Laws were made without their input for hundreds of years. It was illegal for them to be educated of own property hundreds of years. When laws finally got passed that helped people of color the KKK and other racist groups/individuals made it hard or impossible for them to take benefits of the new law. Long history of racist judicial systems made it easy for whites to take or destroy stuff people of color had. The were many case in which if a black boy was smart enough for college he would be harrased not to pursue education through threats. Whites would play good racist bad racist (like modern dat police). They would have one group harrass and beat and the other group say "maybe, for your safety, you shouldn't pursue education I mean its dangerous". Today, communities of color have under funded public schools, drug and disease epidemics and suffer from psychological damage passed on from generations and generations of being made inferior socially, political and etc. So I can believe what ever I want to believe about white people but I am not in a position of power to make it harder for them so its not racist. Even if I were president, there still aren't enough people of color in positions of power to manifest my feelings towards white people. As soon as a to many black people move into a white neighborhood, they can ask the city to raise the property value through reinnovations. This isn't jsut me talkin either do your research on some topics below.

Gentrification

You forgot the so-called Great Texan LBJ after he appointed Thurgood Marshall to the Supreme Court, old LBJ explained his decision about appointing Marshall to a staff member by saying, "Son when I appoint a nig---- to the Court I want everyone to know he's a nig---." There should be a book titled "Lies and Myth's about American white Presidents". Because our history books don't tell the truth about Presidents and their behind the scene true feelings about Black Americans

White people invented the word RACIST. White people stole everything from black people. Stripped everything away from them, and WHITE WASH everything, because they (white people) think we're in some kind of race. White people are the devil. They lie, cheat and steal if they have to.

A person that steals will learn nothing at all.

Why did WHITE PEOPLE paint Jesus face white when clearly in the bible it said that he had hair like wool and skin like bronze?

Also, Jesus hid in Egypt for 40 days and 40 nights? A white guy hiding in a country full of black dark skin people? Oh really.

White people steal everything and don't cover their tracks the right way. Do it right the next time.

White people shoot movies and love to play roles of other races. It's actually beginning to look like comedy.

The truth will always come to light.

Re: Racist quotes by US Presidents
I read these and pondered what the motive of the poster was who chose the quotes by Bush and Reagan. Red them again, Bush was only stating a fat of what exists around the world. Reagan was stating a fact, the South was not happy with the legislation of the three Civil Rights Bills. Hence, we would not have seen such a strong reaction displayed on the news each evening. Footage of southern governors who refused to allow desegregation etc.
If you can't understand the language our forefathers spoke, don't print the quotes. Jefferson was saying that he notices the expressions of the colored race more-so. It is a statement of sadness. He DID NOT own his slaves, he was ALWAYS in dept, the bank owned his slaves and he could not free them. He did however, sneak a few free which if caught, would have landed him in jail. Washington was stating that he believed Jefferson's slaves were more well rounded in their skills. Learn your history before you pick and choose your material!! Lastly, Lincoln HAD TO get elected and therefor, was afraid the racist Democrat voters may not elect him. He had a clear vision and that was to free the slaves, the Republican Party was only founded a few years prior by Suffragettes and Abolitionists. The Democrat Party was in existence for decades es,which began by calling themselves, Democratic Republics.
