**MELTDOWN is INEVITABLE** Look at the facts.
Why do you think Akio Komiri, head of TEPC, broke down in tears? He knows it is GAME OVER.

The French just rated the incident a "five or six" on the 7-step International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale.

The Japanese regulatory agency finally admitted (like a guilty child caught lying) it was a 5, not a 4.

Chernobyl was a level 7, the only in history. And it was ONE reactor.

These idiots on TV seem incapable of GRASPING that once you are at the point of haphazardly dropping water from helicopters and using firehoses to cool these reactors and spent fuel pools, IT IS GAME OVER.

Why don't ANY of these morons ASK the question, "What happens if we can't get the power on, or if we do get the power on and the cooling systems are damaged?"

Are we going to use helicopters and firehoses for the next five years until the fuel can be moved?

NO HUMAN BEING can go inside one of these things! No one can even get inside the spent fuel pool in Reactor 4!

There are at least THREE spent fuel pools, each containing between 2 and 8 REACTORS WORTH of NUCLEAR FUEL.

That is an estimate of about 18-20 NUCLEAR PLANTS MELTING DOWN. Got it? That water has to be mechanically CIRCULATED 24/7, ALL DAY, ALL THE TIME, or it is GAME OVER.

Let's say we get ONE cooling system working, but we can't get another working. Once it's too late, access to the OTHER reactors will be a DEATH SENTENCE. ALL of it has to be fixed and contained, and this had to be done DAYS AGO.

Our only hope is that the containment vessels for the operating reactors serve their function and "sort of" protect what is there, provided they don't blow up or melt right through the floors.

The spent fuel pools are the REAL problem, however. ONCE one of these begins to MELTDOWN -- it doesn't even have to meltdown, the water simply has to expose the rods, which has already happened -- the radiation will be SO HIGH no one will be able to get within a hundred yards of these reactors without facing CERTAIN DEATH.

Once one of them melts down, they ALL MELTDOWN, because the others will be DEATHZONES.

What then?

Remember how last week they said we had 24-48 hours to FIX THIS? Ooops, that time is long since passed.

The MEDIA speaks as though this is some ON-GOING effort, that will last months, as we wrangle in these reactors.

NO! WRONG. There was a brief window, and we've passed the point of no return.

The next question now becomes WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THIS RADIATION and HOW BAD WILL IT BE? HOW BAD WILL IT BE?

NO ONE has speculated on this or given ANY information.

"Oh, the cloud won't reach America, and if it does, it won't be bad."

OH REALLY? EIGHTEEN NUCLEAR REACTORS MELTDOWN right under the jet stream, and you're telling me there won't be ANY consequences? They act like nothing is happening!

The information coming out of Japan is VAGUE and UTTERLY inadequate. If it is NOT a cover-up, it is deliberate silence. The information is UNBELIEVABLY CONFUSED, much of it is OLD NEWS getting REPEATED DAYS later, there are FEW NEW UPDATES. We honestly have NO IDEA what the hell is going on. HOW are they getting sea water in? WHY did they resort to helicopters? THERE IS NO GODDAMN INFORMATION, and the America media twaddles its thumbs.

SOMEONE TELL ME I'M WRONG, PLEASE.

I should add the spent fuel pools aren't protected by much of anything. That's the REAL concern, especially with reactor 4 right now. When Reactor 3 blew up, it's my understanding there was a spent fuel pool at the top that presumably suffered damage, or is at least now EXPOSED TO OPEN AIR.

hello op,

well put...exactly how we feel & have concluded thus far...

that's why we left ptld or. last sat. nite...we knew the jetstream would bring it to us fast...we had a weird 60mph storm blow up around that time & felt it would bring radiation in & fast.

unfortunately we drove thru idaho, utah, when it looks like peak rads hit that area, high in the mountains...

we were trying to beat it, but now feel lil worried...we didn't feel good for days, weak, needed lots extra sleep, bf got 3 very light bloody noses & coughed up blood twice(not usual!) & then just saliva.

we are @ hotel tonite in kansas city mo. driving to bunker in mi. in morning...we had been driving to fla, but changed mind...

check out "got the fuck out of dodge. portland or. couple bug out"thread...for details so far.

honestly, we were starting to doubt ourselves yesterday & getting depressed, but finding your thread helps.

you are right & we know it!
we knew they were gonna blackout thru out the weekend leaving us directionless, high & dry emotionally, & running out of money.

not that i believe them @ all, but i verify info & timeline as much as possible w/ news...

thank you, funstar67

six reactors...I don't think my iodide tablets will do much, but I started taking it yesterday, small dose, and then half a dose, and should I hear worse, I will bump it to 130 full dose. so far I feel fine, and no reaction to speak of...

I am with you, be safe and enjoy the show...
