I heard this strange sound around 10:30 last night night when I was going to bed. I wasn't sure if it was a jet or thunder, but it didn't sound like either. It was a low, intense, rumble that lasted for like 20 seconds each time it started. Woke me up out of a dead sleep several times last night. I am from northeast Indiana.

I would say by my gut feeling that the mother earth is crying because of this.

I am afraid the only veil that may have been torn here (video from FL) is the one that separates our atmosphere from deep space. That sound may have been that of our atmosphere escaping through a crack into space. The flash of light may have been when it snaped back closed. Maybe we are getting closer to finding out how Mars lost it's atmosphere!

I've been hearing a rumbling for the past week or so here. I only notice it at night when things are still and quiet. I'm in north central ohio right on lake erie.

Interesting............about a month ago I heard a prolonged rumbling, I went outside after it had been going on for over 2 minutes, it sounded like a commercial jet but it just kept going, for at least 10 minutes with a couple short pauses, I sat there thinking, wth, but eventually chalked it up to high volume jet traffic which in and of it self was highly unusual, but now I am really questioning what I heard again. Speculation is as valid as official explanations. The fact is, these are NOT reasonable explainations, they are simply cover stories for what the "experts" either don't know or don't want us to know. People are used to hearing the sounds from airports and even the weather event called ducting may have been heard by many. But these sounds cannot be explained by either. Yes, we don't know but speculation could bring out information that can lead to an answer.

1) Water flowing underground doesn't cause flashes of light...nor would it vibrate houses for miles.

2) In order for your to FEEL this earthquake-like vibration...(as it was noted in the local newscast as well)....it would likely need to be in direct contact with the ground/Earth itself.

The flash of light is a CLUE.

The sounds seem to have a repeating pattern. Has anyone put the sounds into an editing application and modified the tones etc or evaluate to see if there is a repeating pattern?

It's spring. Cold and warm air masses colliding. No big deal. Everyone is getting hypersensitive. The booms will cause homes to shake a bit just like thunder.

Like I said in another thread I heard the same like a low rumble of a train that lasted 30-40 minutes in the night when dead and quite. Central IL here Miss river due west and New Madrid in the area? O well probably nothing.

No, sorry. Explaining away with something we KNOW is wrong won't work. And your explanation is one of the most ridiculous ones I've heard. I've lived all around this country, through many decades, and have never heard this sound. Long, sustained rumbling. Spring has NOTHING to do with this.

heard it in Houston this morning around 2:30ish. Real low rumble for about 20 min.

At first I thought it was my neighbor trying to start his Harley, but it never got louder then a low deep rumble. House did not shake, or at least not that I could tell laying in bed.

Yep, I heard it siting on the back deck, low rumble in the distance, background type, wains then loud again. Im in WA, seemed to be from the south and maybe west. But it did not seem to be from the ground. Very low frequency, someone should be able to get a spectragraph on this. Reminds me of "brown note".

I am usually more skeptic, but I would think that after seeing and hearing the video from FL. one would know what wasn't thunder, and the sound disappeared after the flash of light.

Just wondering if HARRP could be involved in this somehow.

It's funny how they always broadcast this stuff before it happens, isn't it?
