What about Ireland or Iceland? Are they southern european countries? Common guys... What is the role of semi-peripheric economies in the European Union? High interest rates benefiting central banks. The financial system is responsible for this crisis, and unless people stand up against this crap they are going to continue this gangrape of "small" economies.
I have many Portuguese friends, they are decent people and I hope they manage to overcome this situation.
