It is probably a tame rabbit that some one let loose. I have had a white and cinnamon one that hangs out under my truck for 3 years now. Rabbits are the most adaptable pet to release back into the wild because their food is everywhere(grass).

The best thing to do is to start feeding it treats. Get a bag of mixed rabbit food and put a little out where the rabbit hangs out. I did this and the rabbit would run out and greet me when he knew he was about to get a treat. After enough time I just bent down and picked him up.

Wild rabbits can get white coats in the winter.

this isn't a cardboard box you're planning on trapping him with, is it? use a wooden one... a wild rabbit will kick the crap out of a cardboard one and run away... laughing at you.
