"[Bernard] von NotHaus was also the founder of the National Organization for the Repeal of the Federal Reserve and Internal Revenue Code (NOFRED). One of the aims of the organization was to mix in the Liberty coins with standard US currency, said the agency."

What will happen to the people who did not voluntarily turn their Liberty dollars in to the Feds?

Good luck trying to sell them!

There is no law against private money in the USA (so long as you aren't trying to counterfeit actual US dollars). This is intimidation. The law says US currency is to be used for DEBTS public and private. This is to make the debt/bond market stable and attractive to foreign investors. No one has to accept US dollars/coins at the retail level. Retail sales are a contract. The contract can be for two things of value.

This story is getting play EVERYWHERE.

I think we may have our tipping point.

Fuck 'em. They want to call us Domestic Terrorists for simply trying to save our families from the famine and poverty that is right over the next hill.

I say "Fine, call me a Terrorist. If that's my yellow star, I'll wear it with pride."

Ahhhh (Breathes huge sigh of relief)

I feel so much safer knowing this monster can't terrorize our children anymore. Obama should invoke his indefinate detention for this beast! I think we can all rest better at night knowing our fake FRN have the monopoly on valueless paper again...

this is what pissed me off the most about this whole thing:

“We are determined to meet these threats through infiltration, disruption and dismantling of organizations which seek to challenge the legitimacy of our democratic form of government,” Tompkins said.

I have proof of a fixed trial in Multnomah County in Portland Oregon! I was illegally appointed my own child"s Guardian ad Litem and then my Child was denied all of her rights as a crime victim. I have reported this crime to the FBI and Police and they have refused to investigate yet this guys prints a few coins and is sitting in prison for 15 years? EXPLAIN PLEASE! And if you know a reported who would be interested in my story, it is not bullshit!!! It is fully documented on court record! No more blood in the name of a freedom that doesn't exist!!!

the moron got convicted because he was acception payment for "liberty dollars" in the form of federal reserve notes. If you are stupid enough to try to screw them with their own monopoly chips they will SCREW YOU even harder.

We have to do something...it is time to stand and fight! I can prove my daughter's trial was fixed. The Feds actually told me to "never contact them again." I believe this is because my daughter's case went all the way to the Supreme Court in Oregon and many judges in Oregon are helping to cover up a crime! I need a good reporter to help me...this is all documented on court record. Including the fact that I was illegally appointed my own child"s Guardian ad Litem...(which i did not discover until recently.) The system in completely broken and this needs to be exposed and discussed!

"Von NotHaus used the Liberty Dollars in lieu of actual minted US coins and was found guilty on several charges stemming from making, processing, and using the imitation coins, the FBI said. He also was charged with conspiracy against the United States. "

This is technically the crime that he committed. You can't issue coins which are attempting to imitate U.S. currency

"The FBI claims that NOFRED “intended for the Liberty Dollar to be used as current money in order to limit reliance on, and to compete with, United States currency.”"

It is NOT illegal to create a competing currency. However, this is the real reason they charged him and brought him down

"“While these forms of anti-government activities do not involve violence, they are every bit as insidious and represent a clear and present danger to the economic stability of this country,” said US Attorney Anne M. Tompkins."

This is a completely spurious argument

rant sorry, you got me started...

Blame the Federal Reserve...and the average person in this country for not understanding how the Fed has eroded the value of our currency. The Fed does not want competition for their fiat currency which they "lend" to the Treasury and charge us interest that we cannot repay because we never got the money to pay the interest!!!. Most federal income tax collected goes to pay the debt (Grace Commission Report). These latest infusions of fiat currency (quantitative easing I, II, III) have devalued the dollar further and forced us past the point where this country can ever hope to pay back the interest...will this country have to sell off our assets (land, structures, resources)? It happened to Argentina about 10 years ago.

The only way to end this is to default on the "loans", kick out the Fed and get back on a precious metals based currency.

By the way, the Fed has never been audited since it was created in 1913. Also, I've heard that the Fed had a 100-year deal with the Treasury, so if you hear of anyone wanting to renew the Fed's contract in 2013, that person or persons should be treated as traitors to the people.

These are the people that created the housing bubble, and now they act if they are the only people who can save us. And as was reported in another thread, Libya is one of only six countries on the planet that don't have Fed (also known as a central bank)...can't have a one-world currency until you control banking in every country... I expect the newly installed Libyan leader to take out a loan from the World Bank or IMF and get sucked into never-ending debt.

The book "The Creature from Jekyll Island" by G Edward Griffin (there are also you-tube videos) gives the whole story on the formation of the Fed.
[link to video.google.comvideoplay?docid=-8484911570371055528#]

"Confessions of an Economic Hitman" is a good read on how these bankers take over the economies of other countries. (Taking over this country has been so much more difficult in comparison.)
__________________________________________________________

This arrest shows how much power the unconstitutional Fed has. This guy creates a currency that is the only currency compliant with the Constitution (coined with precious metal)...and is arrested for it on a charge that was created as a catch-all for anyone who does not go along with the new world order.

Compare that with our Fed Reserve notes (note = debt) that fail to be legal tender for two reasons...

1. Today's Fed notes are not based on a precious metal or tangible assets (except the future value of the labor of the people) and cannot be turned in to the Treasury for gold or silver. Older dollars and silver certificates (the last real money we had until 1971) could be turned in to the Treasury for real silver.

2. Congress is not involved in coining money. The Fed, a private group of international bankers who are behind the demise of our economy, is in control.rant
