Shelves in Japan supermarket shopped bare in half an hour

OP says that the government took over one of the surviving supermarkets in the tsunami-wrecked town & stocked it with groceries. One hundred people queued up to get in, and shopped it down to the bare shelves in half an hour. No mayhem: this is Japan, remember.
