I´m no stock broker, but that looks like a extreme "pump and dump" chart to me... on a national level under Clinton they "pumped" the economy for all it was worth, dot com boom, "new economy of eternal growth", cheap credit explosion, the good times are here to stay, drew in all the suckers from around the world to invest, etc.

Now it´s being dumped by the insiders, and the "natioal CEO´s" are taking all they can out of the sinking ship before the game is up and the imminent bankruptcy becomes public.

If that is, the US was a corporation and the Budget was it´s stock chart :P
