Arnica homiopathic. Treats inflammation. I'm not sure if you can get This natural remedy where you are, but I'll give it to you as it maybe imported into your country its called kawakawa its from a native plant in New Zealand. A company was
producing it and exporting it. It grows wild here and I use it as a tea. If you can get it, give it to your dog as a cold tea to drink.

Sounds like she is on her last legs, literally.

Dogs about her size only live about 12-14 years. So it might be her time. Don't try to force her to stand up. That would be cruel. Just comfort her.

If you think it is more of a medical issue rather than old age, definitely take her to the vet.

Good to hear she is doing better. I am saving all these posts for future reference because there are some things that really sound promising. I'd try several of them; there seems to be a number of them that would be compatible to take at the same time. Good luck--

My dog did the same thing yesterday...he could hardly walk he was limping so bad! He's only about 6 or 7. I figured he must have an old injury that's flaring up as arthritis because he was rescued from a fatal car accident...I imagine he got some sort of injury from that, but it had already healed by the time we got him. I bought some Hyland's arthritis pain homeopathic remedy tablets for him. I put three in a little bowl of milk and he hasn't been limping today! My mother was complaining about her back hurting real bad yesterday too...and she hasn't complained about her back like that in a long time! Makes me wonder what's going on? Apply light at first. It will burn the dog a little so be prepared, but the burning will go away quick. It will also stink to high heaven, but it is a medical wonder!

Nothing can be done. 12 yrs is pretty old. It sucks but the dog has come to the end of it's journey.

Most of the miracle cures mentioned here take WEEKS to become effective. Glucosamine WONT help a dog who's already unable to walk....it, and other remedies like it, take about six weeks. Your dog doesn't have that much time to languish unattended. I've seen this problem MANY times in several of my dogs. Unfortunately, at 12 years old, your dog is coming to the end of his days. The ONLY thing that will realistically work at this point is steroids - prednisone. Dosage can be experimented with to find the least dosage that will be effective. It should get him back up on his feet, but will have consequences over time with his kidneys, etc. This should be the time for you to prepare yourself emotionally for what is inevitable. Trust me, a steroid will work. My one dog is about that old, has been a low dosage of prednisone for TWO entire years for her spondalosis. She isn't exactly fit, but she is happy, and gets around quite well. Her back legs are stiff as a board, but she has no trouble getting up and strolling at her own pace around the house or yard. For as long as the prednisone continues to work, I have no intention of giving up on her, and neither does she. Once the steroid loses its effectiveness, it will be time to let her go. Just be brave and let your dog go when the time comes.

I thought my 13 yr old shepard was going to die last year, she wouldn't get up. We took her in and the vet said it was a thyroid issue, gave her some pills and she was up and about the next day, now shes 14.

You do need to be prepared to do the right thing for your dog and when its time for them to pass on, its all about them and never about you. So many people keep dogs going and going and going, when they shouldn't. Just remember, its about the dogs quality of life at this point, never yours.

I took a dog of mine and 2 dogs of my folks in to be put down last year. Its harsh for the the people in the family, but the dog feels no paid whatsoever when done properly. They just go to sleep forever, very peaceful like. Just make sure you are present if you have to go that route.
