When the average person can not tell the difference between computer generated virtual images and actual photos and videos then they have succeeded. They can fool you about anything at any time.

Why else would they photo shop in and cgi worse effects to the reactors. They aren't using cgi to HIDE damage but to create false damage. That's why they are telling people the water is radiated one day and fine the next, and food irradiated (never mind they started doing this to milk and produce after the phony e-coli salmanella scares).
That's why they roll out photos of guys in radiation suits.
They aren't trying to downplay it but to make people believe it!! And they must be giddy right about now with the success of their plan. Lord, they probably bought stock in Potassium Iodine tablets and geiger counters.
But, try telling people there is no nuclear disaster and they will come down on you with all fury, cause they know this is so. They saw it on TV and they read the news reports, damn it. That's how it's planned, so if some one uncovers the truth, you sound nutty for telling anyone.
It's the old Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox gamit. They want people to think they don't want you to know there is a nuclear crises, when in fact, they really do want you to believe it.
