I found this article on water filtration of Iodine-131. How To Remove Radioactive Iodine-131 From Drinking Water [ link to blogs.forbes.com] Awesome article, thanks for posting.  I am going to add it to the first page: “How To Remove Radioactive Iodine-131 From Drinking Water” “The best solution may be the one used routinely to treat water at the Savannah River Site. The process combines activated carbon, reverse osmosis, and ion exchange. If one doesn’t get the iodine-131, two others have a chance to capture the radiation through other means.” [ link to blogs.forbes.com] RE: cleaning the water, if you read the update on the Forbes blog, you will see that distillation was added as a means of addressing the iodine-131.
