Now the safety of fishing grounds off the coast of Japan are being questioned....

According to the government's Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency, radioactive iodine-131 at a concentration 1,250.8 times the legal limit was detected Friday morning in a seawater sample taken around 330 meters south of the plant, near the drain outlets of its troubled four reactors.

The level rose to its highest so far in the survey begun this week, after staying around levels 100 times over the legal limit. It is highly likely that radioactive water in the plant has disembogued into the sea, Tokyo Electric Power Co said.

The radiation levels in seawater do not pose an immediate risk to human health, government officials said. But they are well above normal levels and fan concerns over fishery products in northeastern Japan as highly radioactive water has been found leaking near all four troubled reactor units at the plant.

Alaskan salmon has been among the safest fish to eat because AK doesn't allow fish farming. But now it's going to be radioactive.

There probably won't be enough radiation to kill the fish. It might even look healthy. But the plutonium could be in the fish!

Japan is also where broken cell chlorella is grown. For those of you who haven't heard of it, it's a real good whole food that has vitamins, minerals, amino acids, RNA and DNA.

It's also a good chelator of heavy metals.

But it's grown in big open vats, probably on one of the southern Japanese Islands.

Dang!

Anyone have a ocean current map? Where's this stuff going?

Its going into the food chain. Fortunately Iodine 131(the radioactive kind) only has a half life of 8 days. What else went into the ocean with it? Cesium has a half life of 30 years, and Plutonium 239 a half life of 24,100 years.

So, its definitely not I-129? The kind that is in spent fuel rods that makes then so long term toxic they have to be buried underground? Half life of I-129 is around 17 million years.
