Why do you say the US Navy is running away? The Navy is evacuating its dependents and personnel who cannot assist with the nuclear reactors.

The US Navy has sent a ship with coolant and trained personnel, plus other Navy assets to work with the Japanese defense group to remedy the problem.

I believe 6 damaged reactors melting down just above sea level could be devastating to the people of this planet.

It's the POTENTIAL!

Yea funny thing is, is that they are finding all sorts of nitrites and nitrates in California's water. Not in my area though so far, but I do not drink tap water anyways.

A couple weeks later, now we are providing fresh water. Tanks of fresh water.

I also read in this thread or another one that we moved our nuclear ships away because their radiation detectors would peg, giving a false-positive for radiation problems in the ship.

I don't know but it's taken a long time for the US Navy to resume moving toward the problem rather than away from it.

NHK is reporting a strong quake and tsunami warning. USGS just finally has it. A 6.5

Airlines won't even fly OVER Tokyo any more, most have rerouted to Osaka. Likely, these too will end soon. I don't know how you would move 37 million people from Tokyo to Osaka. . .

Building a complete export driven capitalist system based around nuke reactors on a fault line ridden island was the height of stupidity.
