Japan became one of the strongest allies of the West
and provided the springboard for many interventions;
including the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Japan traded heavily with the West and added to the
culture of materialism. It exchanged technology, built
plants here in the U.S., exchanged students, allowed bases,
even hired U.S firms to build the nuclear facilities.

I don't see the conflict which you are trying to portray.
