Get off the soda. The artificial sweetener messes with your metabolism and makes you think you've had sugar. Do not use artificial sweeteners.

Do not do zero carb or extremely low carb. Find the point where you lose weight and stick to that. Usually that is somewhere around 40 to 50 grams for most people. It is easier to start with lower carb than low carb. By this I mean you start cutting out certain carbs and gradually add better stuff to your diet.

You stay on that step until you stop losing weight, then cut more cars.

For instance, during the first few weeks, cut out soda, sugar and white flour. Replace it with eggs, cheese, vegetables, and some fruit such as strawberries.

After you stop losing weight on that, cut out starches like potatoes and rice, and replace it with with better options like broccoli, asparagus, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and nuts.

Carbs also regulate your brain chemistry, so it is important to make sure you have some every day, especially upon waking. A handful of shredded wheat is a good option, or a small serving of oatmeal.
