Watched "National Treasure" ~ What about time 2:22 ?
Just watched "National Treasure" with Nicholas Cage. I was intrigued by the strong Masonic theme in the movie.

One of the clues was to look at the time on the clock at Independence Hall pictured on the back of a $100 bill. The shadow at the time "2:22" indicated where to look next.

Any good guesses for the meaning of 2:22?

At 2:22 pm the shadow from Independence Hall was across the pillar on top of the hall. This is where the weird glasses were kept.

The Passover lambs were slain between 2:30 & 3:30 pm the year that Jesus was killed.

You´ve brought a very good point. I think I´ll rent the movie again & see if I can put some more of the pieces together.

BTW - It is worth it to go thru the extra features & find the "egg", you´ll get really neat extra video footage. It took me an hour to get thru all the loops to find the egg & the extra video footage. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!!!!!!!

That shadow thing was lame because it would only hit that spot at that time twice a year and then only when it was sunny. Are we supposed to beleive they got there on the exact day it would work?

It´s been a while since I rented the movie but I remember finding a site that said how to unlock all of the easter eggs without going through the long complicated process.

This site should work

Yep, that link worked & that is the steps for the egg.

Not as much as trying to figure out the puzzles though & the mystery included with it.

(I love mysteries, I spent 10 years solving one, well worth the time.)

interesting...
before departing from a party last night i noticed a clock with 2:22. Upon arriving at home and siting on the couch for a few minutes i glanced at the clock under the tv....2:22!...I then see this little thread....interesting.
I have had similar experiences with other numbers ...23 being most common.

A prime reciprocal magic square based on 223 in base three has a magic constant of 222.

222 is also a number associated with the golden ratio.

222 is a unique number for other reasons also.

Well, well

2 times 11 =22

so 11 was the beginning of the spiritual way, that is why they use a terrible show WTC.

so 22 is the middle way that mean we reach half way to spiruatily.

and 33 is way of the Christ and apocalypse and spiruatility.

What we can do?

Only evolve our spirit that it teach the other.

Most people don´t look to movies for coming times.

Some moveis do, however, release a certain amount of propaganda. The idea is to understand whether information is actually being conveyed or your mind is being bent to some purpose.

The poster noting the shadow is right about twice a year is, but the movie was a cartoon about Masons and looking at that society of secrets in a more complimentary way that a lot of people do.

* * *

Most interesting aspect was that the British were the "bad" guys. The FBI agent (who was a Mason) repeated several times, "Somebody has to go to prison" and, in the end, the British went to prison.

Also interesting that the Gates´ were never established as Masons, just "seekers of the treasure".

737: "A prime reciprocal magic square based on 223 in base three has a magic constant of 222.

Can anyone offer a link that explains the "magic constant" concept?

Also, any comments on what happens in the reverse, 322 ~ which is also an infamous number.

the magic part is when you divide the number into one, you get a series of numbers, they repeat.

This list can me made into a square since the numbers repeat each list is a column

now

from there you must go learn to google or get a math book and learn more.

I did not like the round headed nail that was coming losse from the board he was hanging on to!
Also that nail had no rust? mmmmmm looks like someone was not paying atetion at that nail or they did it so you would see that none of this is real. Funny i do not recall nails used at all 200 years ago.

737: Wonderful, wonderful. Thank you.

Now I can see where Jose Arguelles got his square which matches the Mayan Tzolkin with the DNA/I ching Code. Arguelles referenced "Ben Franklin magic square of 8", but I did not understand where the math came from.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

To the poster who mentioned the iron nail: Yes, too much camera time was put on the creaking nail coming loose and this let us know "there is more to the story". The whole movie was a "spin" on a rather controversial subject which has had much attention lately revolving around the secrets of the ancients.

It is actually a fail in the movie. The whole DST-thing is cool in this movie, but still, in winter the sun is set lower (at 2.22pm) than in summer. The shadow only appears on the right spot in the right season, right?hidinghidinghiding

The back of the Hundred Dollar bill was engraved by Joachim C. Benzing (1846-1940) in 1928. The time 2:22 was just a random time and has no meaning at all.

Did he tell you that in 1928?
