Does anyone else think that for all its benefits and good points there is a VERY dark side to the Internet! Its completely brought a close friend of mines life to a standstill! One of my friends has a serious internet addiction! he can be on it from the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to bed, His social life is in tatters hes put about 4 stone on in weight! He said to me that he cant pull himself away from it! for fear he'll miss something! Im seriously starting to worry that it will ruin his life. His health and hygeine have disingtergrated, he used to a proud peacock but his hair hasnt been cut since before christmas! What advice do you have for me!

People who socialise on the internet probably have more friends from more places around the globe than those who don't. Just saying, the "socialising" thing isn't really a valid criticism. But sitting on your ass day in day out is a bad thing, no matter what you are doing. Some people paint model soldiers, some people play xbox, some people are on the internet. It is not the fault of the soldiers, the games console or the internet, the blame rests squarely on the person who has allowed something, anything to consume all their time. Your friend only has himself to blame, not the internet.
