NASA might if it wasn't illegal for them to do so. They also can't legally disclose advanced life out there should they find it. Kinda funny we get to pay the bills but we don't get to have the knowledge. By funny I mean FUBAR.

I guess I really don't understand how that video imagery works. Is the craft taking actual moving video? Or is it a bunch of pictures snapped by the camera which are then shown in sequence to make the appearance of movement? And wouldn't the UV camera take out a great deal of the "flare" that usually shows up around planets and other objects?

Exactly. Someone just like any of us beginner observers had to have seen it by now and with it that close? It could be observed with the naked eye just like I can pick out Mars or Venus, Uranus or other planets from the rest of the stars in the sky.

Look at my last post from 9/21/2010 7:09 PM where there is a prediction for the appearance of objects in the STEREO HI imagers.

And I quote:

Just exactly what Mr2tuff is seeing enter as a bright flaring object on December 18th.

Predicted on September 21, 2010, nearly 3 months before it happened.

I must be a Reptilian Galactic Overlord in control of Nibiru to cause it to do exactly what I predicted it would do ... or not.

It's just a series of still pictures strung together. The flaring is caused by the optics themselves, it's going to happen some way or another no matter what kind of optic you use provided you over-expose a bright light source like Venus. The "dark orb" I mentioned is just a processing artifact from using a dark frame that isn't truly "dark" but is instead just an old exposure (the goal being to eliminate some of the lens flaring that was also present in the old image being used to subtract with).

Looking at this again, I thing it is Venus. Seems to be a bit of an illusion with Venus being so bright, it gives one the impression that it is in the foreground when really it is farther back than Mercury. Still waiting for some really good prof, thought this was it.

There were a bunch of posts on GLP on 12-29-10 about "the object that is close to the sun" that were debunked saying it was Venus. Guess there really was something unusual by the sun!
