... The bright blob of stars centre-bottom is exactly that; a blob of stars also known as part of the Milky Way Galaxy.
More bands of the MW will drift in from the left in the next few days.

Note that from where Stereo Ahead is at that time, Venus is probably much closer than it is to Earth usually, and the blob is much brighter than Venus. Therefore that blob should be much brighter than Venus in our sky. And at star distances, parallax differences within our solar system should be insignificant. Therefore the blob would appear as a blob in our sky from Earth. So, um, where's that blob in our sky? That famous star-blob that every amateur astronomer must know about?
