The funny thing about religion
Is that none of us have the power to say what is real what is not.

Someone please show me CONCRETE evidence that your religion is the real religion.

Don't show me faith, show me proof. Something I can see. Something everyone can see, that isn't just a theory.

Don't tell me that what is happening in Japan is God's way of waking up the non believers like some crazy super religious girl did. Because there is no proof. Just a theory, just her BELIEFS.

Show me then I will believe.

Until then, all these religions are to me, are a belief system designed for the people, invented by the government and church/masque/whatever congregations involved to keep their citizens in line by telling them what is right and what is wrong and if they follow on a good path they'll have an afterlife to die for.

Because really, look at the ten commandments.
You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. Etc.

The ten commandments alone are ten ways to mold a decent person. To keep from crimes and stupidity.

Take another look at the bible itself. Before it was put on paper, all the stories were verbal. Any one hear of the telephone game? A simple word or phrase gets messed up down the line. Imagine all these stories... which were probably changed in some way to make them sound better, sound more enlightening.

So show me some proof, and I'll believe. Until then... I'm not atheist, I just don't feel I have the power to say what is real and what is not. If it's all science. Sweet awesome that's cool. If it's God.. sweet sorry for my sins. If it's Buddah, then alright I can adjust. Maybe it's the Aristotle in me, but I don't see how people can believe in something that isn't concrete.

This wasn't supposed to go to general discussion goaway

Religion has more of a spiritual aspect. Don't look for material evidence, as they are very rare.

People killing for their beliefs are not God's people.

Genuine christian people would not fight for their life if anyone would want to murder them, just because they have inner peace and know death is not the end.

Re: The funny thing about religion
Not just in Christianity... in all religions.

Not to mention the fact that most Christians/Catholics typically knock all of the other religions saying "they're the only one ever!"

I was raised Byzantine Catholic, then switched to Roman Catholic. Even to this day, without having a specific belief I still love going to the Byzantine church because their rituals are such a great thing to see. Roman Catholics and a lot of the Christians I've seen in church and out of church are so full of themselves thinking there can't be any other. Which good for them they have a belief but they have to be naive to think that everything in their bible is true to the words.

Answer me this.

If the Catholic church, hell the Pope himself were to find out some new bit of info that contradicted what they preach, you think you'd hear them say it? You think the public would know? If someone from another religion found it out of course they'd tell the world, but the church would deny it and tell them they're fabricating the supposed evidence to show their religion is true... and their people would believe because the word of the Pope is the word of their God.

Remember Indulgences, when people had to pay the church to basically secure their spot in Heaven? A little proof that the Church has always been pretty corrupt. As is with all the religions.

You say they aren't true Christians if they kill for their beliefs. But think for a second... do you see a Muslim and think 9/11? Do you see a Muslim and think terrorist? I'm sure you'll answer no, but that's typically what's in the heads of the majority of "true" Catholics/Christians even if they don't admit it out loud.

Well now doesn't that just sound ideal.

I know it probably sounds like I'm knocking all religions, I'm really not trying to. I'm just a concrete person who doesn't understand how people can put so much faith in something that they really can't know if it truly exists.

I lost a couple friends because of the mere fact I don't strictly believe in the Catholic church, which is what prompted this post.

Re: The funny thing about religion
You are very much correct, all religion was meant and created to divide and control the masses. And by looking around it's obviously worked. Everyone argues that their truth is the right one, and everyone else is wrong, that their book is the only true book of God, or Allah or whatever other names are used to mean the Creator.

All this does is play right into the hands of the elite. By keeping us in bondage to a belief system, they limit our true freedom we all have as human beings. By dividing us all, they take the focus off of them and what they have been doing all the while, and put it onto each other. This is how they keep their power over us. They make us think we are free, thinking our own thoughts, when the reality is we have been brainwashed with theirs instead.

That being said, I would ask you consider something. Just because all these religions are lies and power grabs on a worldwide scale, does not mean that a God does not exist. In fact, this is what many in high places would wish for you to think, to buy into this paradigm shift, where because the religions are all wrong there simply is no God. But it doesn't have to be that way.

The simple reason being, God very much can exist outside of religion, and in fact I can prove it to you, as much as can be done in this realm. How? I will put it to you like this:

Why do you think it is, that people in all of these different religious systems, tend to think they have it right where others have it wrong? Why do you think that, be it Catholic or Christian, Buddhist or Jew, they ALL believe their belief system is the only correct one and the only path to the Creator? Is it because of the religion itself? Or is there something deeper at play here?

There is a very logical explanation for this. It is easy to understand, but also at the same time somewhat complex. The reason why so many people think they are right, is because they ALL experience God. Let me repeat that, they ALL EXPERIENCE God.

God is everywhere. You look around anyplace in this world, in this universe and you will see God. In the beauty of a sunrise, God is there. In the smile and laughter of a little baby, God is there. God is a part of all of it, good and bad alike, because He created all of it. There is no place that God cannot be or is not, being an unlimited being.

If one is sincerely looking, and seeking God, they will find Him because of this basic truth. It does not matter what religion they may be seeking in, if they are legitimately looking, they will find and experience God. The problem is, upon finding God they attribute their finding Him as a sign the religion they found Him in is correct and is the only place God is, when really no belief system is, and God cannot be limited to any single one of them being unlimited as I mentioned above.

This is the one thing we have not been told, the one thing that if we truly recognized and understood it, would remove all the power religion holds over us, and by extension the power of the elite as well.

God needs no religion or book to express His truth. There can be some truth in each and every different belief system, but none of them are entirely true, and they all lie about God and His nature in one form or another.

The true God is nothing at all like the God of the Bible, the Torah, the Quran or any other religious text. The true God is pure love, nothing more and nothing less. The true God is available to all at all times now and forever, no matter who you are, where you are, or what you believe in. The true God simply just is.

No it was always meant as a control force. Think about it like this. If you have the power, what's the easiest way to both control the masses and divide them?

Do you tell them that God is everywhere and all things, or do you tell them that God is only here or only there, and you can only be worthy of Him if you do as they tell you to?

Seems pretty easy to see from here.

Re: The funny thing about religion
God cannot be proven. If God showed up, looking like Jesus, all of the other religions would say, "That's not really God, because it doesn't fit my description of God." If God showed up as Allah, the Christians would say, "That is not really God, because that's not Jesus." Other religions would also say that God cannot be God unless it meets the criterion of their religion...

The relationship between you and God is individual. When God has shown up to me, in NDEs and vision, each time God showed up according to the predominant paradigm I believed about God at the time. Why? Not because God's name and shape is Jesus, but because that was ALL I would have accepted AS GOD. Not because God is a Buddhist monk, but because during that time, that was how I saw God. As a child, when I had no concept of an expected Form, God showed up as Pure, unadulterated, indescribable LOVE.

NO ONE can prove God to you, because of your criterion of proof.

The bible's monster-god does not meet my criterion of proof. Nor does the god-monster of the quran.

My criterion of deciding if something is true about God is very simple... and most descriptions fail it. When someone says, "This is true of God," I ask myself, "Is it Loving?"

If I am intelligent enough to know that punishing Adam and Eve for being AS INNOCENT AS THEY WERE CREATED TO BE is not only not loving, but openly evil... then I know it cannot possible be true of God.

For God is MORE loving than I am. If I, as the "evil" or "fallen" or "bad" person in the equation can figure out that something is evil... God certainly figured it out long before I did!

Very simply put, I refuse to accept a description of god that is more evil than I am. Period.
