An important study conducted in the late 1960's reveals that claims made in a superstitious chain-letter, were consciously feared by 83% of test subject, of all age ranges. Here are the most powerful psychological components:

1. A writing which claims to be true sometimes on god's own word.

2. Passages which urge the reader that they will find the truth "deep down within themselves." (classic brainwashing)

3. Claiming that belief in the letter will bring unlimited fortune, and that disbelief in the letter will bring inexplicable torture. (heaven & hell)

4. Claiming that the letter has supernatural power, and has taken and saved countless individuals before with narrative examples.

5. Claims of the infallibility of the letter.

Now, my question for Christians, is that, it seems that a chain letter has the EXACT SAME qualities as the bible, as each of them pull believers towards themselves with their claimed authenticity.

How would you explain to a non-believer that the bible is anything other than an extended chain letter, if they both have exactly the same qualities, and are to a rational mind totally unbelievable?
