I don't know that the boys should be taken out of their homes.

Children that rape and murder tend to have a screw loose period. Serial killers/murderers and so on once captured have often confessed to bizarre and criminal behavior in childhood..doesn't mean their parents raised them improperly. Some people are just wired to be sickos from the start. Not that these kids are, we don't know yet what the issue is. Perhaps they were raped at home or abused in some other way..either way they need to be kept from other children and for a very long time. I don't even know how you would punish children that young for rape, they don't grasp things the way an adult would.

And then there's just the possibility that while they certainly knew it was wrong (why else would they hide while doing it?), maybe they didn't understand why it was wrong beyond that they'd get in trouble if they got caught. Sex is a pretty abstract thing to pre-pubescent kids or at least it was to me when I was that age.

that is why they want to take them from their homes. the adult who may have taught them this may be in the home. maybe their own parent. happens more than we would like to admit.

and could the boys have gotten ahold of dirty movies or the internet. that is also a possibility these days. anyway, the truth has to be found out and it won't be pleasant.

If it was my boys Id want them to get some help maybe not jail but some kind of serious physiological help. I'd also expect them to examine every aspect of our lives both me and my wife to make sure we had not done anything to provoke it...

Sadly, this is a situation that would need common sense and logic in order to determine if punishment is what is needed.

Clearly, it would be dependent upon the attitude of the children that carried out the assault. Unfortunately common sense and logic are in very short supply especially in the legal system.

The little bastards should be executed - along with their parents. Problem solved. They won't be hurting anyone else ever again and their parents won't be able to produce any more future criminals.

I agree in general but I'd love to know what, if anything, was going on at home with the parents. Are the children inherently evil or have they been taught this by way of sexual abuse or parents that are lax in discipline? I'm curious to see how it plays out.

I do think in most cases the kids that are out there raping other kids, murdering them, torturing them..are just rotten to the core evil. Like I mentioned earlier, you hear the stories from the rapists/cannibals/serial killers how they used to do horrific things as early as 5-6 years old.

I go back to when I was that age, I knew right from wrong on that level..I knew you didn't hurt people, I knew you didn't put your hands on others, sexually or otherwise, it's just something I would expect any parent to teach their children at a very, very early age.

Children know..in my opinion, why it's wrong. I have a 5 year old and he was always uptight years ago when bathing him or changing his diaper, it was a task cleaning him as he knew no one was to go around that area. He's aware it's personal and private and not to be touched. Point being children know you don't touch (much less rape) other people in certain areas, they don't feel comfortable with it themselves (being touched) even outside of sexual touching I mean, they just know somewhere inside of their little heads that those parts are different from everything else on their bodies. I cannot for the life of me believe someone that age doesn't understand why it's wrong. Sex or touching anywhere near there, same thing, they know you don't do it. We tell our kids this, they hear it in school and on tv. They understand why it's wrong, I truly believe that.

I was molested by my step brother for years. It started when I was 7 and he was 10. I didn't really know what sex was but I knew what he was doing was wrong and that I didn't like it. I grew up and really never thought to try and press charges, after all, he was underage the whole time it was happening too. He just got out of jail for molesting his own daughter. She took him to court, they gave him a slap on the wrist. Moral of the story...these types can't be rehabilitated and are inherently evil!

Yeah, that's fucking brilliant, have the government put a magnifying glass up your ass as if that proves your innocence. The government doesn't care about children. The government is not a neutral party in parental custody issues. We need to get the government out of the family law business and put it back in the hands of family and community where it was until 50 years ago...
