How much magnetism is the human body supposed to have?
I noticed that when the compass is just sitting on the table it points to where I know north is, but when I pick up it immediately swings anywhere from 10 to 30 degrees to the east.
This could be a serious issue if I ever got lost and had to rely on a compass to find my way...especially since there is such a large difference in the amount of the degree. Last night, when I noticed it, it was off by 30 degrees. Then I checked again before writing this and it was only off by 10 degrees.

Except it is normal when I am not holding it so apparently the problem is ME! LOL

Mm. Maybe your body is reacting to local flux and effecting your compass. Idk.

I know we have trace amounts of iron in the tips of our noses, that might pick up a little bit of magnetic fields.

That didn't work. Hehehe

Is it the same with the compass in either hand, or just one?

It does it with both but 3-5 degrees more with the left hand.

 Quoting: Gnothi Seauton

The left hand is yang energy - it emits or 'gives' energy.
The right hand is yin energy - it draws or 'takes' energy.

Having a greater magnetic effect with your left hand would indicate to me that its your own bioelectric energy (chi) that is strengthening your magnetic field enough to confuse the compass.

An increase in chi can have a number of causes - usually it is cultivated deliberately through occult martial arts, but it can naturally fluctuate with health, diet, and psychological states.

Well that's pretty freaking cool! Don't do any martial arts but I am a Reiki Master so that probably has a lot to do with it. Didn't even think about that having an effect on a compass but it makes sense.
Thank you for that information.

That would do it.

I only got Reiki 1 (I'm on another Path), but when they did the Opening, I felt my energy centers moving physically. It is a real esoteric phenomenon.

Hands on, Reiki on.
Hands off, Reiki off. :)

I haven't done anything with it in years...just don't feel the call any more. I will do it when specifically asked but otherwise I don't make a habit of going around reiki-ing everything in sight. LOL

What they said during Reiki training as I recall, was that once you are 'switched on', you can't turn the Reiki energy off. You can choose not to use it on anybody, but it doesn't go away.

There are energies that modern science and electronics are unaware of, and cannot measure with any device. This is just now being (re)discovered in research on magnetism.

Look into the research surrounding Leedskalnin's coral castle enigma, and you will see examples (even from his own published books) of exactly how the current assumptions about energy are completely wrong.

That is true, it runs constantly whether you want it to or not. The first time I walked into a hospital after having my Reiki II attunement and about passed out, I learned that I need to protect/shield myself prior to going anywhere that there are a lot of sick people (or a lot of people in general). Every once in a while I will be out doing things and suddenly get that tingly, warm, feeling and know that the Reiki has activated and I just strengthen my shield so it doesn't overwhelm me.
