Photons give life. Therefore they themselves must be alive in some way.

Life originates from photons discharging in water and creating amino acid chains.

i'm a follower of christ and a huge fan of quantum mechanics and physics. i consider science as a tool to figure out God's creation and how things work.

some quantum theories have be proven:
1) a particle can exist in two places at one time
2) when an event is observed it changes the events outcome
probably more that I don't know about, feel free to share.

what they are working on now, with the Superconducting Super Collider is finding the "God particle" In theory this is the particle that causes mass. It is what takes energy and gives mass to a particle. it is how, they think, objects were created out of the big bang. it is how the universe was formed.

finding the particle is nothing to fear. if the big bang occurred, it just means that that is the way God created the universe.

my concept of God is not a human personage of man. it is a thing of absolute massiveness that mere mortals cannot grasp in it's entirety and it's nature. i do believe jesus is the son of god (although he never said that, he said he was the son of man) but what the nature of what god truely is, i have no idea.

no, there's no definition of god. and besides.. i thought all atheists were scientists right? lol they all are well versed in maths and other fields of study. usually the opposite is true, they know what evolution is but lol can't even fucking explain it. just like a religious drone who mimics the pastor.

science hasn't had time to study every piece of info in the universe, so how can someone say science disproves "god"

both cristianity and atheism are belief systems. just like philosiphy is a belief system. i'm a follower of christ but all that means is i chose to belief in christ and his philosiphy of how to live one's life.

i think using logic is a good thing. it is a function of the brain that god or nature gave us, you choose which one based on your belief.

i don't understand why people have to argue and say, "i'm right, you're wrong". why do people have such a need? if you are a christian, you understand that spreading christianity is something that is on the checklist. But the quesiton is, "how do we spread christianity". do you do that by berating others and telling them they are "wrong" about their beliefs and totally disrespect them? No, you don't do that. You show them the positiveness and wonderfulness of your belief by your action and your words.

Any so-called christian that hits people over the head with a bible is not a christian. Patience, caring and love are at the core of christianity and the ignorant people are destroying that concept.

People devoid of tangible and meaningful life experience. However, they are probably on their way to realization. They are just late bloomers. Once you hit rock bottom there is no way but up.

I didn't make the statement you responded to but from my experience is discussion with atheist is that they believe in the social fabric of our society. for that reason they obey laws and tend to be pretty good people when interacting with others. some of them are much more tolerant of people that so-called christians.

it is the belief in the social fabric of man that becomes the "religion" so to speak. i said in other comments here that it all boils down to the philosophy that you use to live your life.

even a belief in nothingness can be used as a "religion" in the context that it is a belief system that a person uses to understand the world and their place in it.

some people use words without knowing what they truly mean. Hint: start using a dictionary. When you read a word in context of a sentence, ask yourself "what is the meaning of this word in context to the person's thought". Then look the word up in the dictionary so you gain understanding.

I was like you at one point, but as I studied more and more (both the bible and science) the more I became disillusioned with religion and a "god".

Also, not directing this at you, but I find it funny that religious people are more afraid of death than atheists.

This has been thought of before, it's called Pantheism. Most scientists aren't actually atheist, they're pantheist. Your idea is nothing new, but saying God is LIGHT is still flawed because light does not take on any characteristics of the deity known as "God" as we know him in the Bible, Torah, or Koran.

I actually think it was DMT that influenced shamanistic/paganistic tribes into religiosity. DMT is found in small quantities in just about every living thing, including ourselves. Check out Ayahuasca.

thanks for the reply! we are a bit divergent but not by much. i was raised catholic and by thirteen I had this thought to the sacrement of confession: "why do i need to tell my sins to a priest who talks with god on my behalf and in turn tells me how many prayers i have to say to absolve my sins, since god is everyehere?"

that started a 36 year study in religion and philosophy and the summation of my belief. I realize that my belief requires "faith" and "faith" is not based on concrete logic of any sort. people should look up the definition of faith to understand it's usage.

i consider myself a follower of jesus christ because i dig what the man said and did. i want to be just as loving as he was in human form.

i study christ from the biblical view (my spiritual view) and from the concept of "the search of the historical christ", which is based in fact and logical reasoning. i also study the history of the social cultures of the persons and people that wrote the different books included in the king james version. I also compare the luthern and catholic biblical versions. i've study the translations of the books as they were interpreted and rewritten throughout the ages. I do not believe in the literal understanding of the old testement, but i do believe in the "word" or concept of the philosophy of jesus in the new testament.

I also study the gnostic and agnostic concepts as well as a thorough reading of as much of the apocrypha that i can get my hands on. i still have so much to learn.

so i know i cannot truly defend my belief that christ was the son of god in any logical fashion. i simply believe and try a live from his example.

so we diverge in our beliefs but in know way have we disrespected each other by communicating. i think that is a good thing.
