Probably at this time of night it's not Sirius in the FLA southern sky.. more likely Canopus (2nd in brightness to Sirius) Sirius would be setting in the SW by now..

I have also seen this bright light I worked in the Busch Gardens area and have taken a pic of this the closer it was to me it was huge. I took two pics in which the shape changed. I also seen a helicopter fly pretty quickly by it. I have been trying to find out just what is myself. I have been seeing this for several weeks and it doesnt come out every night and it doesnt last all night either. Still in the dark.
