To answer the topic line... I don't think the statement is necessarily true of all, but some value education very highly and start children off from an early age. Proper education, not sending them of to kindergarten to hand paint.

Jews aren't any more "intelligent" than anyone else. The high IQ is a result of the Jewish culture, with its emphasiss on reading and education starting at an early age PLUS debate and discussion. There is also a lot of self-discipline instilled in them as children. PLUS the Jewish universities are top-drawer.

Not sure I buy the whole jews have higher iq theory. For a few reasons. The theory states that the Ashkenazi jews (jews with european ancestry) have a high iq. There is not a big pool of ashkenazi jews to compare with other racial groups with a higher population. If you look at another group like asians. Some areas of asia are really high on the iq charts while others are really low. This tends to average it out more. The areas with the high iqs are generally wealthier regions with better education values. If you apply this to jews the same would be true. Some jews score high on iq tests, while some score low. We tend to only count the Ashkenazi Jews scores though. Ashkenazi Jews tend to be wealthy and live in areas with good education. Thats not to say that over the years genetics didnt give them an advantage, with a small population if you have a few geniuses to pass genes on it can quickly spread to an entire race in a few thousand years. However there are pockets of europeans and asians that score higher on the iq test, but they get lumped in together with the rest of the race and it lowers the score. That is why I don't think this theory holds much water.
